''and b) I really don't want to sound sexist but I would never trust any woman I have known to spanner my bike. Is this girl different to most ladies? She certainly seems to be taking her time building it..?''
It wasn't a stupid question. It was a ridiculous sexist statement, irrelevant of whether you know who she is or not.

Talking of which I'd like to see her reaction if you said that to her in person, or say it to nhatt... Lol.
As a rule of thumb, when you start a sentence with I'm not being a XXXX or I don't want to sound like a XXXX... It always means you are being an XXXX.
For example, I don't mean to be rude but you are a moron.

Gridds. I actually want to know. Did you honestly not realise the gravity of what you said? Perhaps sexism is so common you are acclimatised to it. However, if you replaced every instance of 'woman' or 'girl' with, I dunno, 'mexican'; would you have dared to say the same thing?

With the possibility of sounding like a right c##t here I have a couple of genuine questions:
a) what's so good about those tyres?
Probably the best 650B tyres money can buy, the other is the Pacenti Pari-Moto 38c which is more of a high performance tyres weight as much as a 700x23c Gatorskins, the smaller size of the wheels mean there's less metal = less weight, also I can go silly big with big mudguard yet still be lighter than a 700c with lightweight 32c tyres and mudguard and plenty of room.
Skinny + frim tyres are a popular conventional wisdom that recently been debunked, the bigger tyres absorb poor road surface extremely well not to need padded bar tape, yet light weight to reduced rolling resistance (the majority of big tyres nowadays tend to be those hybrid kind, very hard to find a wide lightweight tyres nowadays), meaning you can actually have your cake and eat it.
and b) I really don't want to sound sexist but I would never trust any woman I have known to spanner my bike. Is this girl different to most ladies? She certainly seems to be taking her time building it..?
I'm more concern with why do you feel you can't trust any woman, is it base on pervious experience? how you were raised? or simply got knocked up the wrong way round?
I trust Nik to build this bike up, she's an extremely good mechanic and there are certain component that take quite some time to sort out, one example is the dynamo cable routing which required a lots of time and effort to get it right (especially with two different product), it's also fully internal, the idea of a women didn't enter my mind, just her skill.
Also she's working in her spare time after work, rather than at LMNF, which is also why it taking a little longer than expected.
Perhaps it's worth thinking about this very carefully as I realised you're referring to girl you've known personally, but it came off as if you're saying that it's unheard of a girl being a mechanic, or capable of doing jobs that are common with the men, hell even the Queen was a mechanic during the war.
It's no difference to implying the Pole's culture consisted of stealing cars and breaking into houses, or a black American are never as educated as the white American.
I echoes Tenner's comment, you really need to understand the gravity of what you've wrote, genuinely.

Thank you Ed for answering. How do these tyres hold up to punctures etc? I literally knew nothing about them.
Yes my question was, as it said, based on my experience of women I HAVE KNOWN, not all women. But I admit it came out wrong, very wrong. Sorry, I'm tired, unwell and only see this on my phone. I missed that she was wearing sidi shoes.
Sorry everyone. Yup, I deserved the nergs.
As you were.
Yes. I think most of us would. Assumptions that women are in anyway inferior to men are unacceptable. Always.
