  • confused, is it going disc?

  • I believe so, yes.
(as is my GH in the not too distant future, because wheelsize interchangeability fun is needed)

  • I also have an email chain with Matt on converting my Talbot to disc.. 2015 trends.

  • 2014 more like ;)

  • yeah yeah

  • Integrated rear light.

@Scilly.Suffolk that was a small shim designed to slot in there, it's part of a decaleur.

  • Because I already had a disc 650b (which is interchangable to 700c and 26"), the bosses on the Oaks were removed to fit centerpull bosses.

Paul Racer doesn't use centerpull bosses despite being a centerpull brakes.

  • This is the main reason I try to do as much as possible my self....I trust no one as much as I trust me.
I'm the same with my vw bus.

If there is something I can't do, I always ask if I can stay and watch....this helps me learn how to do it, and makes them switch on a bit!

  • Understood! Cheers.

  • New centerpull mount brazed.

Very excited, like having a new bike again, this time a slightly richer grey like the MAPS Cycles rando.

  • Hurry up, Ed! I think my frame might be next in line ;-)

  • what did you do with your paul racers?

  • Sell them probably.

  • What can you do on this that you can't do on the Elephant?

  • I look awesome riding it.

  • Is it powder or enamel?

  • You must look awesome on the elephant though

  • New brakes time.

  • So basically these need the braze ons to be at different height than paul racers?

  • i think they're a different diameter post - these brakes are copies of MAFAC which used proprietary braze-ons, PAUL use ordinary canti bosses, just in a different place.

  • They look fugly, but in a cool fugly retro way. Do they work?

  • Paul use proprietary braze one that both of its own mount are actually a different diameter to each other (literally, the left side is bigger than the right).

Compass use standard centerpull mount, which will work with mafac, shimano, gran compe etc.

  • Sticking with black no that chrome is off the table?

  • If I have a job, chrome will be back on the table, but that's never gonna happen anytime soon (got all offer of part time/zero hours, but never full time), so I'm thinking a little lighter, like this, it would show the fillet braze better than the near black metallic.
