It's a shame that the Fizik bar tape isn't tinted. I always find the white edge rather disturbing.
(Otherwise, nice wrap. I never tried doing it from the stem) -
• #907
Wrapping from the stem down on drops will cause nothing but problems, especially if you ride on the brake hoods. The tape edge will be pushed up by your hands, lift and it will look rubbish.
It won't matter for you though, because going by your brakes, you ride on the tops of the drops all the time anyway.

Just spent over half an hour wrapping one side of my road bars trying to get it perfect.
I'm happy with the result, now to do the other side.
fuck my life.

I spent 2 hours last night cleaning the glue from the old tape off my bullhorns and then wrapping then in Lizard skins DSP tape. It's not perfect, I just hope it doesn't start moving around and looking shit, I might cry.

Why clean the old sticky off? It's free glue?!
I always use additional bits of doublesided tape when wrapping for extra stick.

depends, if it's coagulated and you are using cotton bar tape it will form bumps under the tape.
Spent many an hour with the bankcard getting glue off the bars - its the only use for it cos theres no money in there.

2 words for you....
white spirit.
-
• #916
oh, no doubt, but there's a weird child-like pleasure to picking glue off things..
-
• #917
Damn, now my tape will probably unwrap like last time. Lesson learned, leave the free glue on the bars..
-
• #918
Caz, I know it says don't stretch but I find that crucial to stop it slipping about.
-
• #919
I wrapped it as tightly as I possibly could. Will wait and see how well/crap I did!
-
• #920
ahh. just wrapped my brothers new bars using the figure 8 technique described elsewhere. so so neat.
forgot to take photos do. will ask him to take some. -
• #921
I find it more comfortable, because the ridges stop your hands sliding forwards.
I also find it ironic you talking about comfort with this bar angle....
nice proportions on that bike. really nice. match the wheels up when you can.
