This is V nice*
- not appropriate for this build.
and he also did tape for Rich -the bike tart which is nice and subtle.
Yeah, I was going to say. Because they are narrow in diameter they dont cover thick (leather) bar tape very well.
Grip doctors finish it nicely

Any reccomendations for cheap bar end plus? The ones that came with my odi longnecks don't fit for some reason.

Champagne corks are good trimmed slightly.

I guess I'll have a good excuse to drink loads of booze to try out the best cork

had this idea going trough my head for while..dont mind the bar
might be able to dye it, or give it some shellac layers for a bit more comfort..
just an idea :)

dodgy photoshop time (including rough illustration of what the bike will look like with it's new alpina forks)
All black with a single red highlight is fierce, but it needs to be a brighter red (guards red, Porsche red etc).

Nah, what you should do with champagne corks is use them for bar ends as soon as you open the bottle. That way, they fit in with no shaving and expand in place to seal the end firmly. Of course, this means drinking a couple of bottles every time you redo your bar tape. Result.

Is this the generally accepted way to wrap bars? Right bar, counterclockwise from the end?
-

While it doesn't necessarily qualify as porn, the Fizik Microtex makes for a very durable wrap. This was in the summer and it looks exactly the same after six months of commuting through the winter and being locked up outside all day

@it'sbruce I suppose the side that you do first would be good, but my wrapping gets even worse when I'm a bottle of champagne down.

So, i'm going to have an all black n silver bike, i'm tempted by some bright coloured cloth tape for the Cinelli Criterium bars, maybe some gel pads under the tape, not sure if it would look odd with cloth tape though, maybe just do a double wrap
probably try some harliquin with the cloth tape but with just 1 colour to keep it subtle, other options was some fizik soft touch, or prologo skin touch, just a normal wrap
thoughts?

Slip an old inner tube on the bars: not as cushy as gel pads, but more sleek.

Good idea! i may just do that.
thinking just for the tops by the stem.

Pretty wide but yeah, that'd look boss.

It's just camo gaffer tape, not even as soft as cotton also plasticy. You can get it for less at army surplus stores.
Full length gropes, however, are a fine art.
