Does anyone have a hot air gun?
-
• #479
that must be super uncomfortable... 2-3 layers? gelpads underneath would be too exposed + melt at 105 degrees C

• #480
You think? More uncomfortable than cloth tape? /holds off clicking the buy it now button
-
• #482
you could wrap cork tape under it, but then it would mould to the texture of that

Yeah, so its heat shrink usually made for canoe handles and the like. Its super grippy, took twenty minutes to fit from start to finish and most of that was hitting with my hairdryer.
Its literally flawless, a total one piece covering that moulds itself to every little bump of your bars. Perfect for pimp Nitto's.
Its one piece, sealed at both ends, totally waterproof and non absorbent and cost less than a tenner.
I have two layers on it and when I decide to remove it will have left no damage on the bar.
Perfect for soggy Scotland.
and remember you saw it here first.

Pretty cool. I might try it out if I can get the stuff cheaply enough (here outside EU).

I got it from here, but he doesn't seem to have any left:

It's made by Iscaselle and it's called Pelten Shade tape, somewhere else might have it.

you could do black grey splash

but then you'd risk your bike being posted in the bar wrap anti forum

My Gazelle has a dark grey and light grey fade, would look so good with a black/grey fade tape

crossposting here too for reference
Problem, Brooks tape is quite deformed and hard to re-wrap well...
Solution, iron it! Max heat, one pass on topside, not much pressure...

you could do black grey splash
euph?

Might have to try that ironing trick with the VO tape I put on my Guerciotti, then decided to take off and use white tape instead (Eleganza), which now looks an utter state because my black Specialized mitts have done their best to make the tape the same colour
Fail :(
