Ian Cleverly has written a short but interesting column on TGH;

Ian Cleverly is the only person I've ever known who had pictures of himself on his desk at work.

Pink LFGSS stickers in the works

I reckon Tao could sneak one on his bike next season.
-
• #831
Just watch SPOTY and I didn’t hear Tao’s name mentioned. I did hear Pogacer mentioned.
-
• #832
Odd. I caught a few seconds of it as was channel surfing and they mentioned Tao in the giro followed by chat about Lizzie Deignan?
-
• #833
Missed the Lizzie interview too. How odd that is. Oh well. At least he got a mention.

Tao interview with Cycling podcast from 44mins
[Ineos Grand Tour episode]

@taogeogheganhart really is an impressive young man.
-
• #839
Did he get his cap?
-
• #840
Came here to post that. It would be good to see his employer announce their intention to follow his lead. Somehow, I suspect lip service and attempted PR gains are more likely. We can but hope that my cynicism is misplaced.

Two things to take from that link.
- Tao is an amazing human.
- The majority of people in the comments section are not.
- Tao is an amazing human.

Why would you read the comments? Even our dear own Procycling thread has had me put more people on ignore than any other. It's not hard to guess what it would be like BTL on that site.

Sucker for punishment is my only answer on that one!

• #844
What a guy. Always had a wise head on young shoulders.
-
• #845
God, yeah, and Tao's not too bad, either.
-

Interesting, but do we create a world where people become afraid to do anything, for fear or rebuke?
No one is perfect, and nothing will be. Sometimes it is best to accept someone is doing their best. -

Marlon is an idiot. Of all the pros to pick on...
-
• #849
He's not picking on him though, is he? He's responding with some thoughtful and critical ideas and sets them in the context of a sport that is doing virtually nothing about racism, that is only at the very start of acknowledging that it has a problem. I would think Tao would take his points seriously rather than be defensive or dismissive about them and see that the contribution of a black academic with a genuine interest in cycle sport is something to be welcomed.

^ agree with this, plus IIRC Tao acknowledged he didn’t have all the answers and asked for input/suggestions. That’s what this looks like to me.
Cycle Superhighway CS1 to be renamed
