surely those hand positions are really uncomfortable when using the elbow pads? like the wrist has to curl around

I'd of thought the ones that point up at the ends would be much comfier, not as areo but a more natural position

You have to find a balance between comfort, power output and aero. No point being extremely aero if you can't get the power out of your legs properly. If you are overly uncomfortable then you won't be able to concentrate and won't go as fast.
