  • That looks fucking boss. Aero headtube is rad.
Reminds me I need to build my 24" front ride, it'll be a back breaker and probably ugly as sin but that's not the point!

  • i have updated my TT collection...
    merckx tt; 61ctt
    columbus tsx
mavic comete +/- rear; mavic 3G front (650c)
    shimano 74** group
    mavic bullhorn bars; 3ttt stem

  • woah that's pretty cool! do you race it? seems like itd be way faster with aero bars too. or are they not period correct?

  • mavic 3G front (650c)

Not sure where that would be a time trial bike, the differential wheel size makes it illegal wherever UCI regulations apply and the 26" 3G is not legal under CTT regulation due to insufficient free area.

  • UCI rules do not count for me when riding around the lake nexte to my town!

seriously: i dont do races... just collecting bikes and riding them for fun with friends... sometimes it feels like sports ;-)

  • btw: back then it was legal... and like you can easly see: its a bike from the early 90ies!

  • old tt bike

  • best thread I've read on here in ages - I am impressed

  • What an amazingly ugly bike.

  • well that bike is absolutly awesome... that rear disc might be a joke... change it for a ghibli and its perfect!

  • im not sure if im allowed to post my own bike here or not, if im not i will remove it :-) but here is my TT bike i have pretty much just finished, properly excited for racing on it

  • Not only are you allowed, nay encouraged, to post your own, but it's actually preferable to posting somebody else's.

  • Especially if it's a fixed gear, as this is forum is (supposedly) devoted to them.

    Love this bike

  • My 89 Schwinn Prologue TT in mock-up build. Just wanted a fun CM/social ride cruiser.

After getting run off the road in Miami

    Crappy close up cellphone pic

  • Ouch, hope you were ok, the prick stopped and paid up.

  • This is Miami we're talking about. Driver just kept going. I was ok except for a wee bit of road rash on the elbow.
But to add insult to injury- I landed in a GIANT puddle that was actually ankle deep. Landed on my back. With my messenger bag strapped to it. with my spare clothes, wallet, ciggies, phone, etc. in it. Dumped easily a gallon of water out of my bag. Everything soaked. 3 mile walk back to the car. had to drive home from Miami in my boxer shorts due to not having dry clothes or even a towel.

  • Head angle looks better after modification :-)

That is most certainly not the point! Get it built and posted ;)

You have a month or so until early season tt's start popping up... My new one will be making it's here in the next month or so.

  • This is my new TT bike:

Haven't actually got round to riding it yet (or even taking it outdoors) hence the less-than-optimal background. The spacers on top of the stem will be removed once I've had a bike fitting.

  • it looks like the elbow pads are above the saddle?!

  • It does, but I think that's due to the angle I took the photo at. In fact, they're slightly below the saddle height albeit not much. At the moment the aero bars are on 60mm spacers lifting them above the base bar. I've also got 10mm and 20mm spacers, so I've got a choice between 60mm/30mm/20mm/10mm of spacers. In fact, what I might well do is machine the 60mm spacers down to 40mm, so I can have anything between 70mm and 10mm in 10mm increments.

I suspect that I'll fairly quickly drop the aerobars and use, at most, 30mm of spacers. But given the immense faff involved in sourcing the 60mm spacers (ended up having to ship them from Australia) I thought I might as well use them for the initial build.

  • given the immense faff involved in sourcing the 60mm spacers (ended up having to ship them from Australia)

You can get them direct from 3T or from http://www.i-ride.co.uk/, so unless you're in New Zealand, Australia seems like an odd place to shop. Bear in mind that if you want to use a rise other than 10/20/30/60, you'll need different length bolts.

  • This is a what a Cervelo with 60mm 3T risers is supposed to look like :-)
