  • Might carry a hipster Musette with some snacks in.

I also need to get hold of a decent front light.

  • I managed to fit a small saddle bag behind my saddle mounted water bottles for tubes/levers/multi tool. You could get something like this

and use a bigger saddle bag and tape another cage to your down tube.
It's probably what I'm going to do this year. Although I am going to take more food this time and not just energy bars.

  • I 'll have two bottles on the saddle and one of these:

  • I've already got a Tacx saddle mounted bottle cage holder for two bottles that fits on the saddle rails.

I might go for Apollo's suggestion though. How much do they cost and how big are they?

  • 765 DDXX coach tickets now sold!

We've just expanded our fleet of trucks and coaches so will have extra room for 100.

  • Am starting to doubt my stripped Flite as a suitable saddle for this ride.

  • We left really late last year around 10 but I'd like to leave much earlier this year so I can ride in more of a group.

I was thinking of about 8 ish.

  • just bought my coach ticket

  • womwomwomwomwomwom for 100 miles.

I did it it last year with a hed3 and glows sticks stuck to the edges.

    womwomwomwomwomwom all the way!!!

  • Decathlon, about £10 or less. I had one on for last years DD. Managed to squeeze about 4 sarnies, a torch and some cereal bars in it IIRC.

Make sure you put some leccy tape under the velcro straps else say bye-bye to your paint! Mine also had an issue with popping out to the side if you knocked it with your leg, solved by missus old skool sewing an additional strap onto it :-)

I might go for Apollo's suggestion though. How much do they cost and how big are they?

  • I am out for this year- shall be thinking of you all and mainly be jealous.
Have got a big Ortlieb saddle bag I can lend to someone, and maybe a Hope front light (the massive one that's like a car headlight).

  • Oh no! How come?!

    Dibs on the hope plz!

  • CB will have the Ortlieb I suspect...

  • Cheers OSR think I've found a £4 option on t'bay with three straps. I'll remember to wrap up the frame too!

You beat me to the light though! I'll have to ride on your wheel then!

  • There's a lovely 70-ish mile ride happening tomorrow:

Lea Valley & Epping Forest Explorer: http://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/lea-valley-epping-forest-explorer

Perfect for getting those DunRun miles in!

    You'll be missed!

  • As this is going to be my first DD I have a few questions.
What time do poeple normally start appearing at London Fields? I'm tryoing to work out which train to get down and also I know there is no set start time but generally what time do the majority set off?

People start rocking up from 6.30pm.
    It's an electric atmosphere.
Riders gather (around 1500 riders last year), eat, drink, chat to each other and those there to see them off, then start to peel off from 8-9pm.
I don't recall there being anyone left by 9.15 last year.

  • So, if I managed to do London to Brighton without any major* problems, this should be doable, right? :)

*I don't think that walking up the hills on the silly** gear ratio I did it in counts as a major problem
**silly for me, maybe other people would have found it fine though...
