Also got myself a coach ticket as I know exactly what will happen after a couple of pints and a full English.

i like the idea of riding home, but really can't see myself wanting to after riding out. plus i'll need to be up at 6am on monday for work, so will need some serious kip time on sunday day time...

Meant to ask, how do people normally transport stuff with them? Large saddle bag? Rack and pannier? Anyone take rucksacks/messenger bags?
-
• #415
You need a banana, spare inner and tyre levers and a micro pump in your back pocket is all
-
• #416
^this
maybe on longer rides also bring spare batteries, allen keys etc
-
• #417
I'll use a saddlebag, as I'm planning on staying nearby in suffolk overnight on Sunday. Just don't bring too much stuff. Toothbrush, pants, hipflask, change of jersey and spare cycle cap (I love a dry one to put on when I finish), plus tools, pump & tube.

Wierdly I'm sort of dreading riding the four miles from Duwnich to Walberswick after my breakfast & swim.

Is it too late to buy a coach ticket back? They haven't all gone yet have they?
-
• #420
Surely not as much as I'm dreading the 4 hours stuck in a coach in some traffic jam skully

Any significant weight on your back is going to stress it on that long a ride. I used a small saddlebag and a couple of frame bags. Essential repair tools, couple of bananas, a few gels. That's all you need.

Nah I just bought one a minute ago

Speak for yourselves with all this talk of one banana and a gel. I took a saddle bag full of food last year, must have been about 3kg's and i ate the lot.
