Doh, that would be because I had it plugged into the graphics card, that's not close to working. Now it won't even hold on power again!

• #3928
No, just fans were running, but that was about it.

OK, getting somewhere, swapped out the RAM, now attempting system restore.
Edit: not necessary apparently. W10 back up and running, hopefully it was just failing RAM causing the BSOD. Thanks LFGSS, I couldn't have done it without you!

You can get a PCI diagnostic card which may tell you more https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motherboard-Diagnostic-Card-4-Digit-Analyzer-x/dp/B00H51J166 (I've never used this one, just the first that came up on Amazon).

Nice one, there is one known error that's caused a crash before, but I've never gotten around to fixing it. This time round was something different, pretty sure it was the RAM dying.

I guess you realise this but you will probably find the issue is only with one stick of RAM and the other(s) will be fine.
-
• #3933
That will happen. Also make sure you've got the ram sticks in the right sockets if it's a pair

Doesn't make any real difference.

You say that, but I fell foul of it once and the bios wouldn't boot at all.

Partly my fault, partly the fucking pathetically shallow and unstable boomerang shaped stand. I shifted the desk back and that was enough for it to topple : /
That's less than two months use. Fucking annoyed.
How do you know there's power. Do you get to the BIOS Post?
