That's useful, thanks!

Thanks!
This is shocking... I thought I was better...
How the hell is mine so bad???
What can we do to make it better?
What's insane about it is I say no to all ads everytime... I need better ad blockers.

Hmm. 75% with Brave browser on Android. Even with "aggressive" blocking. 🤔
-
• #3105
Noticed its browser dependent too...
6% duckduck - wow

It does say in the pop up to just use as a reference to improve efficiency so I'm not sure how accurate the number is etc.
Since I set up Nextdns, with the help of this thread, I'm getting 98%.

I've got a pi.hole running with adblocker that I've forgotten the name of in FF and it's 100% blocked
-
• #3108
ublock origin
-
• #3109
Nice. The only things not blocked when I test there, is Sentry and Yandex.

uBO redirects two connections to empty resources to avoid anti-adblock messages when the connections are blocked. The website fails to notice. And that's the point in such redirections.
My browser shows 80%, but everything is actually blocked.
(Not that I understand the working of ublock fully)

I want to buy a raspberry Pi with pihole kit, any thoughts?
-
• #3112
Do the NextDNS thing. Far less faffing.
-
• #3113
Now set up and working but only at 87%
Thing is i would like to set it up at the router so it covers the xbox and all household traffic.
-
• #3114
Interesting. 10% blocked on default mobile Firefox. 88% blocked with my usual nextdns profile. 99% blocked with the nextdns profile I use on my phone (one Google one not blocked for some reason).
-
• #3115
The website has instructions for quite a few routers.
-
• #3116
Phone is 82% with pihole and ublock origin, 80% with ublock only.
Most of the unblocked stuff is actually redirected, so still blocked.

ExpressVPN has not brought out a preloaded vpn router. ExpressVPN aircove. Only currently available in the US though.

Anyone found if any of the blocklists on NextDNS block cookie popups? I hate cookie pop ups!
There was an iOS app that did a pretty good job of it but haven't found a solution for Android.

They tend to be cosmetic. Ublock origin works, as you can pick the element manually. The naming conventions are similar across lots of sites, so you do it led often over time.
There may even be custom list somewhere.

Thanks. It’s a good story.
I read about this before but told through the eyes of a different protagonist
This is a satisfying way to check your AdBlock https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html
