A likely story...

On a loosely related note, one of my colleagues ended up being blackmailed after jacking off on a webcam site and refused to pay. They did indeed send the footage to all of his friends and family when he refused to pay. Different scenario though, they actually did have footage of him polishing the bishop.

We will all have to get used to it. Meh.

What more details do you need? If an account was compromised, make sure you change your password maybe add 2FA or remove the account.

Troy also has a compromised password checker, a sort of reverse lookup from the breach lists.

Oh and you can sub to his alert service which will email you if your address is found in a new breach.

Not quite. This guy was voluntarily participating in webcam mutual masturbation, they needed his Facebook account to be public to get his friend/family details. No hacking required. It was a honey trap.

If you pay then they just take everything, over time. The only way to deal with it is to call their bluff. I bet nobody* watched the video anyway, presumably sent as a link from a stranger to email addresses (some of which do not work) trawled from Facebook?
