Not sure tbh, I'm no moth expert. I hadn't seen one until a few days ago, looks just like a piece of crinkled paper from a distance.
We moved into our house about 4 years ago and have been doing more to encourage wildlife in (pond, wildflowers, don't mow the grass, let things get a bit overgrown) and we get lots of cool bugs (I think) as a resut of that. Had a convulvulus hawk moth a couple of years ago, I'll see if I can find the photo.

Think this is a sea slater, apparently very common but never seen one before. Kinda cute in an ugly sort of way.

Mini_com was given a caterpillar in a tub to hatch at home (didn't tell us we had to buy the butterfly nursery thing too.....). This is what came out of it.
