  • Those aviator shades.

    Now is she a Horsefly?

  • Got bitten by a horse fly last year, itchiest thing ever. My leg swelled up so much I couldn't roll my trouser down.

  • It’s horrific how they operate - saw blade mouth parts and no anaesthetic! Mozzies are much kinder!

  • .....But enough of solicitors.

  • Haha, how did you know that was my job?

  • I had no idea. Why didn't you just admit to molesting small furry animals? You would be more popular.

I should say sorry for taking such a cheap shot, I know I should.

  • Plenty of Segestria florentina out and about this evening. The latter one busying itself with some late night cannibalism

  • Wow. Good size. Where abouts? Prolly asked already!

Appears to have iridescence too! 😎

  • Nasty arent they? I was massacred by some horse flies a few years ago while on a ride that took me down a flooded lane near a stud farm and I reacted so badly my kegs swelled up and I also started to have breathing problems. Needed a trip to a walk in centre and a week of various drugs. Thankfully the experience doesn't seem to have made my allergy to them worse.

  • Ha, no worries - in fact, the sort of law that I do is so fluffy and benign that it was many years before I met a lawyer whose unpleasantness made me realise why lawyers are so widely despised.

  • Devon, there’s loads of them in south west England as they initially colonised on the south coast I think from Europe.

They seem to love old brick walls which have been drilled before as I imagine it makes tunnel web building nice and easy.

Yep that fangs are a lovley iridescent green but couldn’t really get it focussed due to poor iphone camera and beers.

  • It's back again!

  • Horse fly bites and the resultant swelling was one of the theories behind my shin tendonitis issue that kicked my arse during my first TransAm.

Yeah so painful, they're done before you even know it. Horrible bastards

  • the 'elephant's trunk' retracts when it's pissed off to protect the head and make the 'eyes' look bigger apparently

  • Looking through old pics and found this which I titled Emerald Beetle.

I think I got it in some Magazine freebie. Thinking it was from far off lands.

However upon closer inspection it looks a lot like the native Cockchaffer posted in this here thread.
