Yes.

I'm wondering how the format will translate to not being in a indoor family holiday park.

I think I will miss the proximity from dancefloor to kettle and sofa. That is the best thing about bloc... duff set, no sweat, tea and a zoot and then pop back in a half hour...
oh and £25 quid booking fee... how much fucking admin is there?

I've been the last 4 years to bloc and I'm gutted I'll probably miss out on it for the following reasons
its only 2 days!
having to deal with the normal world after a rave session
no back to the chalet action
no seaside on your doorstep
no arcades
£25 for vip queues? wtf!
The lineup for this years looks a lot better than the last one and I'll be gutted to miss Monolake as his set at Hemsby was top notch.
If they book Kraftwerk of course I reserve the right to change my mind! -

Yeah, my fave part of bloc was the back to my chalet silliness.
Some of the people we had back would never have been invited back to our real life houses.
Whats a VIP queue? Do you still have to stand in line... then you aint no VIP.
No seaside, no bemused locals, no ice cream sunday from the cafe on the seafront, no sandcastles, no windy road past the telephone museum.
This year will just be two big nights out.

Hawtin, Snoop Dogg and Steve Reich added to the lineup - still not going though ( but resolve is wavering slightly !)
-

Richie Hawtin = disco semi. ( No homo)
-
• #11
Hawtin as Plastikman would for me have been a far better booking, Hawtin's djing hasn;t really done it for me for years.
No Ceephax on the lineup either so you won't get a repeat of this

I wasnt going to go, was at Bloc 1 to 4 and the loss of a seaside venue is shit, but Steve Reich on the bill made me change my mind. Saw Music for 18 Musicians at the Royal Albert Hall and the Desert Music at the Barbican last year, both really impressive. It wont be the same as the Butlins at all but I dont think they were able to hang on to Minehead, too much madness I reckon.

• #22
Any Friday tickets going spare? I am getting desperate!
-
• #23
Do you really want to be bringing your bike along for going home after a festival?
-
• #24
Also, I am stupidly excited about this now. Cant believe it's tomorrow.
Friday lineup is insane. Worth every penny. I am seeing in this order:
Deadboy
Steve Reich
Nicholas Jaar
Amon Tobin
Shackleton
Mosca
Joker or Sandwell District
Steffithen a bit of wandering between spots before Ricardo Villalobos.
Before heading back for 4pm on Saturday for Actress.
No polo this weekend for me I guess... sigh.

It's not really a festival as such, and i'm shooting so I wont be sideways..
Hey,
Anyone going to BLOC this year at the Pleasure Gardens?
