Nice! Can't see them getting it tho', has to be a NA WHBPC 2015, Shirley?
-
• #3005
If it is Timaru, I'll probably fly over from Oz for it... :)

£1600-ish return ticket. Fat chance of that happening. Yeah it'd be great for Asia and Australia, but pretty shit for the rest of the world..

You can get to any Aus city for £1k and to Christchurch from any Aus city for £300, often there are sales on between NZ and Aus which will half that price though.
It'd still be an expensive trip but NZ is beautiful. If you can afford it then I'd recommend taking your time and seeing all of NZ, I wish I'd gone there for longer.
I believe NAH have already backed the Timaru bid for 2015 (courts dependent).

Don't get me wrong, NZ is pretty much top of the bucket list, but I wouldn't want to just go there for a tournament. Also, I'd have to leave London to be able to afford flights alone.

Don't drink beer for a year? Take a second job? Sell your body?

Selling your body is all well and good but you shouldn't even joke about the beer thing, too far man, too far.

The NAH made a commitment to support a NZ bid for 2015, if they dropped out of 2014 (as last year there were rival bids from Timaru and France, and no process to make a decision).
In addition, after travelling far for every worlds since Berlin, it's about time they had a worlds at home, especially as the AUS/NZ teams get stronger every year. Yeah, it's gonna suck for both Europe and NA, rather than just one, and I'm sure it will be a smaller worlds, but we'll be back in NA before long (maybe a break in 2016, and then 2017 again).
Finally, and probably most importantly, there isn't really anyone who has a firm interest in hosting a worlds in NA right now. Lexington, Ottawa (2017), Denver, Guadalajara, Las Vegas, LA have all been suggested, or expressed some interest, but nothing concrete.
I'm not sure I'll be able to make it to NZ, but I'll try .

i think Worlds/Euros should alternate every year, its the only feasible way to be able to afford to go to these tournaments.
-
• #3016
Agreed, looks like it's heading that way. Especially as in NA we want to push the NAH Bench, if it goes well, and I don't think we can do a full bench and 3 vs 3 series in a year, it's one or the other.
-
• #3017
Bench? Why? If it ain't broke...
-
• #3018
A lot of demand for it over here, for traditional bench, and a shorter 5vs5 format
-
• #3019
The poloverse has gone mad... 3v3 or GTFO...

• #3020
bench is the future

2 vs 2 4 lyf!

It is broke.

Testify.

It is not broke. If you like bench games, go play hockey.
Is anyone from London driving to Brussels for the tournament and has a spare seat in the car?
