Such a great tournament in Hannover.
Big rollerhockey courts. One is very smooth, one is a bit rougher.
Great location, everyone is camping next to the courts, communal BBQ, cold drinks for sale, music, and great weather.
Todays games are here, there is another swiss rounds tomorrow.

I'm playing for Shotgun Siblings, with Anna and Johanna. We dominated the first game, but only won 1-0, let down by poor passing and team play, hopefully that will get better the more we play.

Would they be keen to host the Euros there next year maybe? Two courts for four days or something?
Photos!

It would be great if they could, I've been trying to suggest it, the location is really perfect, just could do with 1 more court ideally.

Second game was better, we should still have done better than 3-0, but passing was working this time.
In the third game we played Edisons, the only rain of the day hit, and we drew with them 3-3.
We're in a pretty good position at the moment.

Bad game against Recep's team, we lost 5-0, let in 2 bad goals very early on. After that we played some really nice passing plays, had a fair bit of possession, but nothing in the final third, not a single shot on goal, and they punished us when they did attack.
On more game tonight, and two more tomorrow evening after the other teams have played their group.

A poor result in the 5th game yesterday, lost 5-2 to Wiebke's team, again we had a lot of possession, and good passing plays, but no end product.
The first half of the day went really well, but against the last two teams we just didn't have a good enough possession to shots ratio.
I think in general this isn't a team with so many goals in it, but our defence should be better than it was in the last few games.
Now the other group is playing, and we'll be back on this evening to finish our rounds. We probably need 1 more win to qualify for Sunday.

Best game of the weekend so far, Monkey Punch 1-2 Eiernacken (Danny and Daniel Bambule with Hannes). Really fast close game, Danny scored the winning goal close to the end.
Both had 4 wins out of 4 before they met.

So, in our final game on Saturday we drew 1-1, I scored our only goal of the game. It was really hard sitting around all day and then be ready for a single game, against a team who needed the win as much as us. Because of that it was a fairly defensive game from both teams.
So we were knocked out before the elim. That's the first time that has happened to me in a long time, and it was a bit of the downer.
But then Sunday started, and I got to watch lots of polo.
Edisons dominated, winning every game, and across the whole weekend won every game except one (us).
They were a class above everyone else, though Monkey Punch gave it a very good shot, and after losing in the first round battled all the way through the losers bracket to the final, to finish second behind Edisons.
Third place were Eiernacken (Danny and Daniel Bambule with Hannes). They had been very strong all weekend, some crazy goals from those guys. If that's a lineup that continues they'd be a team to watch out for.
Fourth place were Kurze Lunte, another Berlin team, with Rik and Nico Bambule. They also played really well, and Nico was MVP, apart from Eddy, in my mind.
Joint fifth were Hazers (Daniel 3pmh's team), and Ba Boon (Shadowman's team).
A lot of teams are in a process of change at the moment, Toros, Tough Shit & Clowns couldn't get lineups together, the various Bambule players need teams, Robert, Edison's permasub, needs a long term team too, so it will be interesting to see what teams come out of Germany in the next year.
Overall an awesome weekend (apart from our own results), the location is simply amazing, everyone called it the polo festival, I've never been to a tournament from Friday to Sunday, and only left the courts to go to the supermarket to get food for the BBQ.
I was talking to the organisers, and have been trying to get them to put on a international tournament, hopefully it will happen at some point.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my banner go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
