Maybe this?

Every now and then I have taken photos of planes passing in front of the moon, but today it was the turn of a crescent Venus to have a visit from an obliging pilot. Handheld shot, heavily cropped.

Did it get launched arse first?

Sounds like it had an issue on landing. Pilot ejected, plane slid off the deck

7 sailors injured must have been a rough landing

Just had a c-17 fly very low over my house, following a very similar flightpath to the government VIP jets that regularly come out of Northolt. Is this possible? I would have thought that the runway at Northolt would be too short for a plane of that size.

"let the bodys hit the floor" possibly not the best choice of lyrics as a plane lands

That's quite the fail. Only watched it on mute before posting.

Ultimate private jet accessory?

Those are Cobham (formerly FRL) Falcons that are based at Teesside Airport. They simulate threats for military training purposes - that’s what the pods are for.

Feeding to flightaware and getting constant feeder outages, any ideas?
-
• #2821
Can't remember details but there is a flightaware logfile...that could give you some clues. Alternatively, just reinstall and reassociate...might be faster than fixing.

Updated to latest version of pi aware and reassociated; this cured it for a while but now it's doing it again.

Is the power supply for your Pi ok? Low power can make USB devices puke...
-
• #2824
Flightaware support mentioned the power supply as well, maybe worth trying a new one.

Personally I've found Pis are OK with a pretty wide range of USB power supplies (so long as they're fairly powerful) but can be picky about the cable so, if it's not an all-in-one supply, also something worth looking at.
Not for UK ATC. Strictly speaking, it’s illegal even to listen to ATC on an airband if you aren’t the intended recipient. Obviously OFCOM isn’t particularly interested in that sort of thing and airband users are generally left alone, but they’d find it difficult to ignore ATC being re-broadcast online if the unit concerned made a complaint.
