There's a storm comin'
If there is, then the last place you want to be is anywhere near a Kalinin K-7. Even without the comedy armament, it could barely lift itself.

I read they are looking into it again...

have been recording a lot of the quest channels programmes about aircraft recently, great histories of certain models, marques and types of planes
reconnaissance planes
jet fighters
bombers
etcbrings back memories as a kid of flicking through the observer book of aircraft and a few other books i had and looking at all the wierd and wonderful designs from the 40's 50's and 60's, kelly johnson's specials, jet sea planes, rocket fighters
planes that never flew
planes that changed the world -

There were two over Leeds last week. Practising landing on the Helipad on top of Leeds General Infirmary apparently.

A puma took off right next to me as I was going to round regents last week. What what all the activities are about?

I don't think it's any more than usual. The Thames run has been a daily thing for years and they often practice low stuff in parks. Hamstead Heath gets a few helicopters practicing in the dark.

Used to be able to see chinooks, sea kings, the occasional puma and apache land or practice landing at the honourable artillery company in Bunhill fields near moorgate. My old office had a great view of it.

I do think since the London bombings and other EU attacks there is a bigger military presence around the capital. I suspect rapid response teams are prepped with drills accordingly.

Enjoyed aeroplane park at Brooklands Museum yesterday, includes Sultan of Omans plush DC10 and Concorde although latter was shut. Run by volunteers, the park has that great old fashioned, run on a budget feel and in many ways, better for that. See also East Midlands Aeropark.
