  • Boo Shame about the BF train. You were all missed on what was a lovely, dry pootle through the lanes.

I think BMMF was happiest with an audible squeal at his new KOM back at the station.

Hope to see you all next time.

  • No beer, you guys were missed, very enjoyable. Thank you everybody.

  • I think BMMF was happiest with an audible squeal.

That was tika's brakes in East London.

  • Also, sarcastic joy / acting skillz.

  • I ran 23s @ 92psi rear and 87psi front. Thinking about upgrading to similar skinny tyres for my commute now.

  • Just had some toast and Marmite.

  • Is this tweeting?

  • Hope all the train crew got back ok. Could've done without the ride home really but another great TNRC. Cheers all

  • Well my cough has now almost gone, just what the doctor ordered a good healthy dose of TNRC action, it's hard to beat.
Nice as always to see you all and catch up a little, some strong riding out there last night and lovely spinning action to boot.
Sam & Andy I hope your evenings weren't as strenuous dealing with tired kids, runny noses & getting covered in floating phlegm, it shouldn't of been as Ludwig was with us :-)
    Blackfriars crew we missed you.

  • Thanks to all for bearing with me - poor fitness, calf cramps and (dare I mention it?) a slightly overweight bike made this a bit more of a challenge for me than I'd expected from a 30 miler but I'm really glad that folks urged me not to peel off at Kemsing/Otford. I'd done some damage to my legs by sprinting down from Catford after discovering that the train was cancelled but they just about held out and I'm back on the Kona today.

Amazing starlit skies, Venus shining in the west all the way round the route. Very few motorists out, but I had a mini-adventure with a nice puddle/lake with a concealed pothole, and a maniacal pheasant nearly had me off the bike at Eynsford on the return leg. Oh, and it's good thing I was so far off the back on Exedown that nobody saw me fall off when I tried to start again after walking round the first bend.

    I'll be back.

  • Excellent excuse for Chocolate Yazoo, that.

Soz' if any description of my trivially overdoing it sounded at all like bravado. T'was only intended as a spot o' sheepishness at taking insufficient care.
    #Yawnsville

Bad luck to anyone whose plans for cycling were scuppered by an absence trains.

Those pink hubs of purple_mj's. Jazzy!

    Cheers all.

    .

  • That was a lovely night for riding - we lucked out with the rain. A tough one for me but a good antidote to the last few days inaction. Cheers all for putting up with my climbing 'form'. Bad luck about the Blackfriars ghost train - seems to be tnrc curse on that station. Thanks for taking the lead on this one Martin, think I've finally learnt the route now - must do it in daylight sometime. Shame that Sam & Andy couldn't make it in the end - hopefully Kent 2 later on. Nice riding with you Ludd, hope to see you out there on a Tuesday again. Next list in about a week - prob something North for a change.

  • good pace last night, need to work on my fitness a bit to make it up exedown without a rest!
and i'll hear no word of heavy bikes while i'm wrestling my 12kg beast around.

  • I was at a loose end after the trains were cancelled. we checked victoria trains and it said the same (though it wasn't).

all fixed up and no where to go, idea of north hills or regent's park didn't really compare to the lanes of kent. couldn't even be bothered racing people on the way home.

  • I am fairly tired today after that. One observation - you know you have entered a Strava section when Ludwig comes chugging past you with his game face on.

  • I'll be back.

yay! was great to have you along Paul, the next one will be considerably flatter so you should be fine on that machine. I'll be on a similar contraption myself :D

  • you know you have entered a Strava section when Ludwig comes chugging past you with his game face on.

that is an absolute classic right there.

  • Also, sarcastic joy / acting skillz.

    i saw the smile....

  • Just educated myself on Robert "Frank" Capa .

  • who made this segment?
    http://app.strava.com/segments/1213328

I did. Also something similar for the 5 Hills route. Mainly to get an idea of WTF is going on behind me ;)

Of course, the leaderboard is littered with geared frauds now. Strava needs more customization options for restricted gearing segments.

  • i saw the smile....

Clearly acting, as I never smile in earnest.

I don't know which was worse last night. Dodging flying spanners, or dodging infected German consonants.
