Right, I am goign to take advantage of the January sales at Wiggle and Chain reaction and buy myself some new polo parts.
What is the concencus on a good solid back tyre? looking for a 28 as i think that is the largets that will fit in a Langster with rear brake.
What about grips, what are the new ones you bought like Chan? -
• #3409
Rear tyre, the cheapest Schwalbe Marathon you can find (different rubber compounds and more threads per inch on the more expensive ones - not relevant to polo), the rubber on mine are over a centimetre thick! Skidtastic.
grip-wise is personal preference - hipster ourys give me sore hands, too fat. if you can get lock on ones, they're good. Using £8 bike-boutique velo ones on my MTB, hard rubber, thin knurled grip, lock on. surprisingly comfy and grippy for what they are, but going to change them for some super-tacky ODI ones for getting back off road. Since riding Bmx discovered the joys of having a large flange to rest your hand against on the inside of the grip. and yes, Lock-ons = awesome ... no more slippy grips, EVER! consensus is usually softest rubber you can get away with, without them disintegrating within a few rides.

yeah i wanna go for lock-ons
unofrtunatly as i'll be ordering off the internet i can't see how soft the rubber is, maybe just go by reviews or sumin -

Ill come down polo tonight, wont stay too long though, not played in a while because i want to get my bikes sorted out, just having 1 bike for everything is a pain. also want to try playing on someones single speed, im thinking of getting one of the crappy create bikes and prolly just stripping it for parts for polo, since it comes with brakes ill give single speed a try.
Glowbike, your leaving it quite late arnt you! :-P deadlines the 16th? for most things

although what size bike do you take?Technically there not great for polo, fat aluminum dents and they only take a 28 tyre
yours is good tho woody dont get me wrong -
• #3424
haha. yeah the fact the tyres only go up to 28 is a bit annoying, although at the mo i am running somethign tiny, any bigger would be an improvement! i quite like the dented alu look
