Stockport Market is hosting a Ride 4 Ryder event for Sue Ryder Care on
Saturday 19th September. The charity fundraiser asked if we knew any
local bike polo teams who might want to do a short demo game as part of
the free entertainment for the day. Manchester Dropouts are the only
Google find! Do you think you would be interested?Esther Morrison

did you call them yet?it's exciting??
gave the fox a bit of a makeover so it might help me stop getting a bad neck again: put shorter stem on and sawed the bars down so not leaning over so much and drilled holes in mallet to make slightly lighter..hopefully it will make a massive difference..fox now feels a bit like riding a shopper though!! meant to come this afternoon but so busy with getting ready for this shambala ride and ventoux one after the other..hope you all had mega fun.
if people wanted to do a winter tourney it might be good to advertise that on the mini fest timetable so that people that come to practice come thinking they might be able to take part..or maybe on the thursday it could be polo practise then two weeks later a throw in tourney so people who have come for the first time can have something to aim for and to get practicing for straight away so they keep no coming...spesh if they are good...what do yous think?
-
• #2540
sounds good! Would be ace to have the winter tourney there
-
• #2541
that court looks good.
when we played grass polo in oxford they allowed shuffle shots, but then they were not the hardcourt ppl.
-

me and nes were talking about having a casual throw-in tourney before the proper winter tourney, more welcoming for new players.

there are no new players!

but there could be. population of south mcr is about to go up significantly!
-
• #2545
there wont be any new players, people just dont want to play it, even people we get to come down once or twice normally dont come back,
im well up for a tournament though, plus we will have ben, woody, nick, bajan etc back

NOLO for me today, got to revise for my exam tomorrow. It's gunna be harwd.
-
• #2547
well the whole point of the mini fest is to get new players coming on the thursday it's where lots of people initially came from...you lot came from the NYE polo party (if i remember rightly) and lots of others over the years have come from similar events and stayed playing for at least a year. the throw in tourney two weeks after this beginners session means that they will have something to aim for and look towards so that they will continue coming to pol afterwards but it's also not a big tourney with people from other cities so it's not so intimidating..that's the idea anyway..up for it?

whitworth 6pm, see you all there

There's plenty of new people who keep coming back. Just be more useful if they weren't The Undisputed Leader Of The Universe, or three foot tall and covered in chocolate.
-
• #2550
you mean the leader of the real IRA and undisputed leader of the universe!,
those kids were realllllly pissing me off last night and their parents clearly didnt give a shit about them
doubt it. we played a grass tourney in oxford about 3 years ago and we played with solely the 3 golden rules: no foot down, like for like contact and no shuffle goals.
