Leaving aside any personal issues, I think the playing styles of each player makes these better lineups:
mcr a:
Stephen Green
Adam Russ
Rob Stonermcr b:
Neil Ruddock
Emyr Derfel
Andy Mcrae (spelling?)Names as per Adam's post. As for a third team for the noobs, I suggest "The Flying Sqadron" with a black-yellow-black RAF style roundel and decent moustaches.

Andy Mcrae (spelling?)Em is that your preferred line up? do you have a 2nd option?

the a and b teams were just alphabetical to make sure we were all registered if we hadn't sorted teams out by tomorrow .
I personally want to do as much of the NS as possible and the open/champs. I really want to qualify for the euros and if not then do the wildcard. I doubt I can afford worlds as well but would be trying my best to go if I can.
I'm reasonably happy playing with whoever, the important thing will be playing in as many tourneys as I want to. I like playing with Neil on my team so that would be a bonus.

Rob can you list at least 2 potential teams though

• #11281
Oh, and I don't think there will be a wild card for the euros.

ChanI want to do as many tournaments as possible this year, with the same team mates. I should be able to afford all the trips and my only scheduled commitments this year are the Clunker Classic on July 5th-7th and ideally June 26th for my mum's and my nephews' birthdays.

Firstly, credit to you all for trying to sort this out publicly and in a considered way - bodes well for the future of MHBP if we can manage this sort of stuff out...
My ambitions/commitment for tournaments in 2012 are to focus on one major European/Worlds tournament qualification (or wildcard) and the LO, using other selected NS or city tournaments as preparation for those. To be clear, I don't expect to be able to commit/travel to both the Euros and the Worlds, just the one.
As such I'm eager to develop/build on the steep learning curve of 2011, as opposed to starting from scratch and would hope to be able to my share playing ideas with team mates. I'm totally up for training (fitness/individual skills/team play/being coached) whatever the weather and expect to play twice a week or substitute alternate cycling-related activities.
Team combinations that I think I can play better in/with (and in no particular order, Dermott) are:
Chan/Em/Neil
Adam/Chan/Neil
Em/Adam/NeilWhat I'm looking forward to most though, is preparing 3 or 4 MHBP teams and arriving on mass at tawnys representing and supporting our new group both on court and off... Go MHBP!

Scroll down to post 61 - there's a wildcard tournament planned for the week prior in Rouen - a target in its own right, methinks!

Having studied the various individuals combinations, the two combinations that work through as most favourable to most people ie. that the most people get to play with at least one of their favoured players; and the fewest people have to be 'flexible' (play with someone not on their initial list) are:
Rob/Em/Ste
Andy/Neil/AdamWhat do others see and/or do those who would have to be 'flexible' see merit in working with these lineups?

Is someone ready to sign up mcr a team at 1200? They should get all the details in a document ready to copy and paste over to make sure it's registered as quickly as possible once the link becomes available. Who's doing it? Also if we're trying to send a 3rd team someone will need to do that as well
-
• #11292
team wise I'm happy whatever, although I'm not sure if the team I'm on will be a bit too unbalanced in that we're all quite get a ball and go fast kind of players. Best thing to do though will be play some games on Thursday

If it's March 9th gig you're registering for then I'd love to be in team C if there's a space for me. Can't make the Cambridge Bench tho :(
-
• #11294
Yeah, it's the brizzle tourney. I think Drew's coming down whatever, but obviously better if on a team. Are you free at 12ish to sign up the C team?
-
• #11295
Only an hour and a bit left, I want to know someone else is sat by their F5 key ready to sign people up, I'm worried we won't get spaces otherwise. Who's ready? Who? Who?
-
• #11296
guess i can do it.....what do i need to know...?
-
• #11297
