Cheers boys 🙌
Love having the v1 up and running again, absolute joy to ride and probably why it's the only bike I've never ended up selling.
The Stoemper is ballistic. Goes like mad, beautifully responsive and amazing ride quality even though it's aluminium. The di2 shifts great but I can't say I'm completely convinced yet due to its complexity w the wiring and also high price if things fail. T -

A minor upgrade. I think it's getting there. The money I've spent on it is preposterous.

So I think it's done for the long term foreseeable future.
Cut down the Thomson bars by a few cm's on each side. Settled on a 100mm X4 which works beautifully with both risers and drops.
I think I can safely say that, for me, the v1 is an amazing frame. Just feels so natural to be on and is so adaptable that it really makes it a do it all bike. Geo is quite slack but certainly doesn't feel it whilst cycling.
I think the only drawback is the weight. I'm no weight weenie but it is noticeable especially compared to the Talbot or similar.
However, I love it. It's the only bike I've kept for this length of time and the only one I keep coming back to and enjoy every minute on it. If you can find one, buy it :)!
Photos to come once I see daylight.. -

I will be once/if the Moots arrives in one piece. It's already spoken for though..

Too big for me as well. 56cm?
-
• #436
Yup 56cm. Pretty much the longest TT I can ride comfortably. Think the Moots will be that wee bit better fitting..

• #437
Always thought you where taller, don't know why...
I have the same feels about the Brooklyn.

Be good to see moots when it arrives :)

A stem is coming to complete the build. I think it's genuinely finished after that, probably the first complete bike in my stable!
In the meantime.. Woopwoop! Goes nice w the BRP Keychain.

Nah Japanese auction. It's just a keyring.
I should've bought BMW's stock of barends when I bought mine, schoolboy! I'll keep an eye out for you if you want. T -

The final part is here. I'd really like to believe this is it done, dusted, sorted and finished! I can't think of what else it needs and subjectively, it runs absolutely 100%.
Completely white spirit decreased, de-oiled and dried out the entire drive chain. Now lubed with mucoffs c3 ceramic lube so will see how that works..
The above stem is the new one with reversible logos and newer, smaller bolts. Overall, absolutely no need for it but it was the last little bit bugging me so why stop at 98% sorted ;)
On that note, the other x4 is for sale. 100mm, 10deg, excellent condition. £40 uk posted.
Full pics to come at some point..
Cheers! T

Ordered a set of black ti Torx bolts for the stem. Not dirty bastard thief proof but that wee bit better than Allen bolts IMO.

The key ring has arrived. Or should I say the huge lump of aluminium. I thought it was an engraved bar end but it's actually like two bar ends stuck together. Oh well, can bash anyone trying to steal my V1 w it.
Otherwise replaced the X4 bolts with Ti Torx ones. Approx 12g weight saving but around 80% lower chance of getting stuff nicked. True science proven fact fam innit ;)
