The Ditchling is steep enough, would breeze it on a road bike but on 70+gi it's a bit of a bastard.. for me it's not really worth gearing down for, would rather have the less spinny gear for the rest of the ride...
I imagine we'll be doing the same route as before, and in that case, there aren't any particulary steep hills to ride down. A couple of long fast descents but nothing too exciting. After reaching the top of Ditchling last time I was excited to ride down the other side (thinking it was gonna be steepz) but was well mellow... kinda disappointed me.

I agree with Spotter. I have a self imposted 30 mile limit for riding brakeless, I don't want to take the risk needed to emergency stop and not being able to due to tired legs. Especially on a large downhill like after Ditchling.
