i flit, flop and decline to sit either side a very old and boring fence. depends on mood, company and errr mood. i go for years without listening to either, and every now and again go on a total binge. just coming off months of rinsing sticky fingers but whatevs. i get the beatlez haterz, i really do. but i can't join in cos there's just so much awesome there...in all eras. some sucky balls too. but when it's good it's about as good as it gets. meh. i decline to engage with beatle debates as a rule. i don't really give a fuck what anyone else thinks tbh... i ain't gonna try and change your mind.

^^Whose best album isn't their notorious first, but elegant third. I'm pretty sure I've spoken to Oliver about this and he disagreed, but he's wrong.

Oliver prefer The Velvet Underground & Nico.
Some songs on it, yes, but not the whole album. Something remarkable happened with the sound, but I don't like all of it. I dislike 'Heroin', for instance, or, rather, I just find it very boring--I just don't get what's supposed to be remarkable about the lyric, but then I've never taken dope and I've never taken drugs, I've never danced on a bearskin rug, and I guess it's true, what all those people they say, I'm going to have to lose my hometown ways. I guess it's true, I guess I've led a sheltered life.

I would say about all of their albums that they're patchy. Many of my favourite VU songs are on the third album, but I don't like 'Jesus', for instance, and I just wouldn't say about any of their albums that they're my favourite. The songs to which I listen the most are 'Sister Ray', 'Beginning to See the Light', 'I'll be Your Mirror', 'Pale Blue Eyes', 'What Goes on', 'I'm Set Free', 'Head Held High', 'Train Round the Bend', 'Sweet Jane', 'I Can't Stand It Any More', and 'Rock'n'Roll', in no particular order. Those are my favourites, and there are a couple of them on each album. It's a shame that half of 'Loaded' is ridiculous crap like 'Lonesome Cowboy Bill', 'New Age', or 'Oh! Sweet Nuthin'', or that could have been a really good album in its entirety.
