  • But it's physically impossible not to get into the drops and speed along on a racer ;)

The big ring and drops are there for a reason ;)

Or..........maybe you have to be partically blind so you can't see the red mist in front of you?????

  • It is called control, will power whatever you want to call it.

    I'll agree.

When I'm on the road bicycle, it's a little hard not to fight the urge of sprinting like an idiot when the light go green for no reason whatsoever.

Otherwise, what would be the point of having a lightweight bicycle that's fun to ride? to poodle at 7mph to the local newsagent?

  • That would be all the posts from people who know everything about the difference between riding a light road bike and a heavy dutch/roadster bike even though they've never tried it, right?

Funny how the people who have tried both say one thing and the people who haven't are telling them they are wrong.

Nope that would be just about all of them.

    Mine included

Ed there is no problem with this whatsoever with this IMO; if you can justify this to yourself or have the disposable income needed to needlessly spend that type of money on a bike only to pootle at 7mph then good on you. It is no different to buying a track bike, putting cut down risers on it, dressing like a courier and never taking your bike anywhere near a velodrome.
