  • New plan:

I have it all bar the brakes, which are a bit hard to source.

Will be getting new wheels too, need to think about the options.

If anyone would like to make me an offer for the 10spd campag groupset, feel free otherwise it'll go on the bay.

  • Not the bay!

  • New groupset rather than just buy some veloce levers?

    #fettlersgonnafettle.

  • I have Veloce levers, not sure what you mean sorry.

I'm wondering if i might get a23 rims for the wheels, unless anyone else can think of a silver rim with a decent width and a lower spoke count.

  • Like 28/24? Archtype perhaps?

What's the spec of those Veloce? as in shifter, front and rear derailleur, cassette etc.?

  • Not touching Archtypes, I can't stand the logo. Kinoko have 20mm carbon clinchers for sub £60 per rim....hmmm

    The GS is:

    Brakes - Veloce
    Levers - Veloce
    FD - Chorus
    RD - Veloce
Cranks - Centaur + campag bb
Wheels - athena rear hub and veloce front hub with dt swiss stainless spokes spokes and campagnolo Berlin 36 rims

And can't remember what the cassette is, but it is a campag ones.

  • I'm sure a man of your skills could remove the Archetype logos.

  • they're not even under any sort of lacquer or protective layer

  • They don't just peel off, but I reckon nail varnish remover will sort it...

  • Are they just vinyl decals?

  • If anyone would like to make me an offer for the 10spd campag groupset, feel free otherwise it'll go on the bay.

Might be interested in the FD and shim when the time comes.
Or just the shim, if you want to keep the group together.

  • I'll be keeping that sorry, I need to use it again.

  • I think I'll treat José to a new headset too, stronglite A9 I think.

  • Have you suddenly grown?

  • New groupset rather than just buy some veloce levers?

    #fettlersgonnafettle.

I have Veloce levers, not sure what you mean sorry.

Just curious why you're switching to Rival if you've got all you need for the veloce dropbar setup. You're changing hubs?

  • I prefer Sram, I'll be getting new New wheels and Ed, new bars and seatpost will fix that.

  • It's good to have you back in the T-Rex Brotherhoods, Brother Spatr.

  • Back? Was I in before?

  • Lol

  • seeing as you could have used an inline post here for the same position, yes.

  • Not really, just one with a 10mm setback will do.

  • Need to pick up, what I hope is the cranks and shifters from the post office.

In the mean time I've decided to buy some Shimano RS10 wheels and de-sticker them

I've been thinking about the headset, I was thinking of the Stronglite A9, but now i'm wondering about getting the BBB BHP-15 or FSA TH-365 Duron X as they've both got cartridge bearings.

Also definitely going to get silver braided cables

and Soma Highway1 bars with lizardskin DSP 32.mm tape:

Also Need to think tyres, GP 4000s or 4 seasons? I think i'll probably go for the 4 seasons and try and squeeze 28's on.

Also need to think brakes, I did find some new Silver Rival brakes:

But at £80, i'm not sure they're worth it. I think Tektro R540s' will be just as good with a fair old saving.

    I

not quite pure silver but I have a pair of these I'd part with for £50 should you be interested

  • Thanks for the offer, I've seen force in the flesh and the silver is a bit too dark to match nicely sorry.

  • Hmmm. I've just received some Red brakes (silver). But I'd prefer the grey Force brakes.

Maybe we can work something out?
