• You'll be fine smiff.

  • From what I've seen, you can drop Em on the hills just fine...

  • are there are any major hills?

if so i might get dropped on them... but i reckon i can make it up on the descents/flats...

Highgate hill is the biggest, otherwise I'd say it falls in the 'gently rolling' cateory.

  • Can we have an "official" .tcx so that those of us with noodly little legs can tootle along the route after Megalegs McEvoy rips off into the distance?

  • There will be one published the week of the ride.
6pt, schick and I will be retesting the route earlier in the week.
I may well also do some of it over the course of this weekend.

  • Well, i live at the 80km point (Leighton Buzzard - hence the nickname, you can guess the other reason)

I may have to come and watch the fun at the 90km mark. Great Brickhill, not massively steep but I can max out 53x12 down it :D

  • ^ Do we now need a pre race caravan dishing out pizzas?

  • ^amazing. dr oetker ristorante pizzas are a secret shame of mine.

Royally pissed off that I've been rotaed in for this despite asking for it off several times. If anyone wants the prestigious second slow spot it's all yours... at least you're even stevens now!

  • Just scanned thread and am unsure, is this ride doing the tour at Bletchley, and if so are you all taking bike locks? Or is it more of a tramp beer in the park somewhere whilst sharing Turing related factoids and working on our sunburn/frostbite.

If the former the website says due to capacity restrictions that groups of over 20 need to pre-book.

  • I haven't planned anything to do with actually arriving at the destination.

Last time we just turned up and a couple of local historian types were happy to talk to us.
However, this year as it's the 100 year anniversary of his birth, I would not expect the same treatment.

Maybe compile a list of people who want fact and things?
Failing that I'll nominate a boozer for a cider/beer and chips.

  • List:
People who want fact and tings
    1.
    2.

People who want beer and chips

    1. Skydancer
  • Maybe a more sensible option would be to assume everyone will be wanting a beverage and sustenance so we'll make a public house the end of the ride.

Those who then wish to go to Bletchley Park itself can head off there at their own free will?

  • OK I'm in, I for one would enjoy some fantastic facts. On the website it says its 12 quid admission too so worth bearing that in mind (for doley scum like me anyway). Will slow group it there but plan on cycling back.
