  • Why are those always yellow, though?

  • Don't forget to make a prequel trilogy that completely goes against the ethos of your first trio of movies. Then make some shit computer games and when all your fans think it's fully ruined, sell it to Disney.

You'll be rich, but soulless and look a little like a hamster.

    I jest. Sort of.

Does anyone have any recommendations for yellow legal pads? Both brands and places to buy (ideally online).

I'm basically trying to emulate George Lucas in every way imaginable at the moment and he wrote Star Wars on yellow legal pads. Once I've got a supply sorted, I'll greenlight a terrible sequel to an iconic film trilogy and make sure the plot revolves around a skull made of glass and magic and aliens or sutin.

  • He's got the Hamster thing nailed already

  • And I've been working on soulless.

But to reach that I've got to be completely incredible and start effectively a studio from the ground up gambling the overestimated earnings from my smash hit. (Which I'm also working on). But to plan all this properly, I need yellow legal pads.

  • Isn't that just a fishing expedition for personal information?

  • No.

  • I don't like ballpoints and haven't written with a fountain pen for ages... Damn!
    #toohonest

  • Pen lovers of lfgss,

I'd like to start writing with a fountain pen. Any recommendations to get me started? (nice but not pricey)

  • I always liked Waterman and Parker.

My dad likes Lamy, but I just don't seem to get on with them.

If I were you I'd go to a shop and try them. The weight and nip of a pen is quite personal.

  • Also if you do decide you want a nicer pen down the line and want something other than than a Mont Blanc (and like weighty pens) have a look at the older Dunhill ones (c.2000)

I don't know what their new pens are like.

  • I've used a Shaeffer Targa for the last 35 years and been very happy with it. It's an all stainless steel model, out of production now but they still turn up 'new in box'.

  • My recent favourites include;
a TWSBI 580 Diamond, medium nib. Juiced up with a Pelikan blue/black Edelstein Tanzanite.

And coming in the post from America thanks to our strong currency is a Pilot Vanishing Point in matte black laced with Montblancs limited edition Meisterstück grey ink.

  • And some affiliate links for these bits, I think this is a cracking entry level fountain pen.

    TWSBI 580
    Edelstein Ink

Also thinking of pulling the trigger on their Micarta version just because it's so unique.

  • I keep almost losing my 30th birthday present fountain pen, so I've decided to get a case for it on the principle that bigger things are harder to lose.

Montblanc do a two-pen pouch for £115, which strikes me as expensive - what else have people seen that is well made and pleasant to use and look at?

  • 31trum could probably make something nice?
