Damn you! Have you any what you have done?

Saw a 9zero7 with my lefty, and a decender post on MTBR today. The fork and seatpost looked really good together, and the gravity dropper is most reliable design.
Seatpost Size (Diameter): 31.6 No Shim
Desired Drop: 4 inch Multiposition (Up, Down 2 inch, or Down)
Length of Seatpost: 350 mm
Custom Engraving: No

Got a link, or is it one of those pictures you need to be an mtbr member to access?

I like the matching boots ;)

I quite like that, apart from the melting top tube & the chain that looks like it's about to snap.

The 9zero7 looks a bit odd in my size (thats not a dale its a zero7). Cant argue with that veg clearance though.
I was mainly interested in how nice the inherently ugly gravity dropper looked, with the lefty boot matching it. It really is the best chioce for a adjustable fatbike post.

It's not a shopping bike though ;-)

Has that ZeroDale got an SRM on it?

While I think of it, what finish are you going for on the fatty? I quite like how gabes had his done, but hand brushed is also very nice :-/

Still nice to know ones sprouts are safe
If I ride the biggest tyres possible, barefoot, I have zero standover.
The alternative was to have the top tube join the seat tube, below where a direct line from headtube to rear hub would. Which is a look I really dont like. So I went with the same striaght line as my Spot.

Yeah I seem to remember that being a sponsered dale riders fun bike.

Hand brushed. Although I agree that blasted looks sweet. With all the bags, and road grit etc. I expect it to recieve light scratches. Hand brushed finishes can be maintained with a brillo pad.
I posted a test with a hand brushed Ti stem on the Ti thread. I have a tub of that abrasive polish stuff. Which really made the stem pop (as they say in the US). Although a proper mirror polish would be too much work for a complete frame I discovered.

Sorry. Too dark outside for a decent pic this time of year.

Oh yeah, the Ti thread! Time to check that out properly I think :-)

The logo will be blasted, and I hope to get one of their stainless steel headbadges.
I like the idea of a blasted down tube band, containing the logo left in the same hand brushed finish.

I like the way handbrushed Ti looks when it's had a bit of wear & tear. I think dj's fixed had a nice worn in look to it when I saw it recently.

Blasted logo is infinitely nicer than stickers! Good move with the head badge too.

Well, I've digested the Ti thread & can't say that I've fallen in love with anything on there. Some great bikes, but not for me.
I'm really liking the idea of gently curving seatstays now. Bit like these.
Not like these. ( though still a cracking bike )
I wonder how they'd go with rocker dropouts...?
-
• #745
The rockers would help slacken the seatstay angle (very slightly). So they'd look good. They would in theory add some comfortable flex. Something your long but steep stays might benefit from.
Thats pure speculation though.

The holy grail of "vertical compliance" eh. I think it might work well ( visually at least ) with the large rear triangle that I'd inevitably end up with.

I'm just repeating marketing BS I've read regarding such curved stays on a Ti bike. Kinda makes sense but I've no idea of the real practical effect on ride comfort.

Looks nice though. I might just end up with a crappy handling pretty bike that sort of fits well ;-)
2 out of 3 aint bad! I need an expert on board for the 3rd one though.

I have'nt even suggested tube dimensions for the fat frame. Looking at the Cad I was sent Dmitry went for pretty beefy tubes. With a 35mm seat tube, and a 38mm down tube.
I trust his knowledge of his own tubes, and concentrate on getting the fit, and geo I want.

I was hoping you'd say that.
As opposed to fat kid bike I suppose ;-)
