I have the double kick stand. Its bloody huge so should be stable.
My 6 year old fits on the back really nicely.
Had to get inventive with the mudguards though.
Also decided to go with 180mm rotors front and rear.

Find old American numberplate.
Make them fit.
Look cool as fuck.

Also decided to go with 180mm rotors front and rear.
Right........... the frame came with a 160mm and two 180mm rotors. A rear adaptor for 180 rotor and a front adaptor for a 160mm. I figured, balls, I want to use the 180s front and rear, so ordered a front 180mm adaptor. Sorted.............no.
Checked the rear last night, and it dont fit. The adaptor states 180R/203F. The disc is defo 180mm. But the caliper is 10mm short of engaging. So I thought bugger, I need to order another 160R/180F. But for the same price I picked up a 203mm rotor, to put on the front with the adaptor I currently have on the rear. So its going to be 203mm front, 180mm rear.
So with the 2.5" tyres, 47mm wide rims, and bonkers brake set-up. I can take the kids on some DH runs if we get bored.
I really hate disc caliper adaptors.

Terrible phone pic. Mounted everything last night. Might need to dismount it to install the drivechain. But I wanted to confirm the fit for my nippas. The child seat is'nt even at the end of the rack. Not a lot of space for panniers left though. Might just strap one to the cak of the rack untill I aquire funds for a big front rack.

Managed to feck the threads of my NDS BB cup last night. Could'nt find a replacement Patterson BB, so am going with a standard 4000 series, which should fit. 30 bloody £s.
You try to put something together quickly and everything goes wrong. Grrrrrrr!

Right, all the annoying small parts have arrived, and I just need to find the time to put it together. I have the cockpit set-up, and seems nice and functional. The BB7 levers really make the budget disc calipers shine. The adjustable drop-out adaptors are very nice too.
soon......

Right so I threaded the NDS BB cup. Figured it was down to me being a tit. Ordered a new one, and discovered my bb needs chasing.
None to easy around here. Plus transporting the bike would be a PITA. So I've ordered a tool. One I've kinda always wanted.

Comes with the bars.

The seatpost is supposed to be 31.8mm, which is a weird diameter. So I have a standard 31.6, and a 34.9mm clamp. Seems pretty solid. Did'nt make any sense untill I realised it allowed a standard stem to be used for the rear bars. -

I think cyclotouriste have the right idea of bicycle for touring on;

Amazing looking rack. The built in rack on mine is made of tubing too thick for standard pannier hooks.
Once the youngest grows out of thechild seat. I fit a proper set of Mundo bags, and a second cushion. Annoying at the moment though.

A lots of frame tend not to be faced when fresh out of the box.
The only frame that have been faced properly were the Surly Cross-check that I brought from Brixton Cycles (who probably did that job before selling it).

All of mine have been OK so far. After an initial tantrum. I'm not displeased with the quality of the frame. Just one of those things. I'm just really relieved I did'nt damage the threads on the drive side cup. As its a special part of the Patterson crankset. The NDS cup is just a standard 4000 series FSA cup.
Still, its looking pretty awsome, with he bars all finished.

Anyone tried 20" solution? Isn't it too wobbly? My folder becomes bit unpredictable when I lean on the handlebars.

Nooooo! Don't lean!

My BB thread reamer is delayed :(
Still. Had the metal workshop here at work grind 0.8mm off my SS cog, so it will fit the NuVinci freehub nice and snug with 0 spacers (so maximum spline contact).
So I can fit the rear wheel and clever drop-out adjuster over the weekend.

Sprocket its perfectly. But it turns out my NuVini adaptors ar for a ifferent model NuVinci hub, and wont it the axle properly. So I eed some new inserts mahined and sent from NZ. Poosticks.
Cockpit pic for the vouyers.

Scoblesque!

Things moving forward........slowly.
Chased the threads on the BB shell, and fitted the patterson drive crankset. No down tube cable stops on this frame. So I'm screwing one to what I can only assume is a crudcatcher braze-on.
The non-drive side adaptors dont fitt my NuVinci hub axle. So I'm having new ones machined in NZ. So more waiting there.
So close though......:S

Fat bike.
I spent my fat lefty fork budget on ski gear (I refuse to pay winter prices). My next purchase will be a Hope 170mm reart hub. But not untill after the family hols. I recieved an E-mail from Dmitry, telling me my frame was approaching the front of the build queue. The design is finalized, and all the tubes, drop-outs etc. are in place. But hand brushiong might add a bit to build time I guess.Long bike. This is virtually finished. I just cant fit the rear wheel as one of the drop out adaptors did fit. A replacement was sent 3 weeks ago from New Zealand. I am more than a little worried that its been lost :(
Each drop out adaptor consists of three pieces. A small piece whih fits inside the existing drop outs, a large piece which sits flush with the chain stays, and a ratched peice which fits inside the large piece. The axle holes on one side are orientated wrong, and are too big (must be for an older NuVinci model) (see top and bottom piece).

Little update.
Longbike
Recieved the drop-out adaptors, could'nt get them to work properly :(
Cabled the nu vinci and could'nt get that to work. (Cables go slack when I start shifting) :(
Also installed the chain (s), only to find they hit the massive double kick stand. So I've ordered a chain tensioner to pull the chain down out of the way.Reckon I can sort these niggles, but the delay is mad frustrating.
Fatbike
Recieved a 170 QR, and have a 170mm Hope Evo pro hub on order. So wuill build my rear wheel soon.
Then I just need brakes and my fork.
It looks like Triton are improving they're tube bending skills all the time. Sorely tempted to see if they can add small bends where the DT meets the HT for fork crown clearance, and were the TT meets the ST for nad clearance. At least the suns out so I can enjoy my road bike ;)

Re the longbike - that blows. But at least you've got the pieces so you can wrap it up.
My build's been taking forever, and been thwarted by a couple of missing pieces. All done now...but with a lot of little bodges.
Re Fatbike - there's no rush. Make hay while the sun is shining, etc.
When you're done...
