http://gommaardhulst.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/isenc-2012-newcastle-a-twitter-report/Do you know if this would be about the use of ketones as a supplement for fat loss etc.. or getting riders to become "fat adapted" by periods of low carbing, so they can keep going after they bonk?
fwiw exogenous ketones have only been shown to have an effect in the lab, with extremely high cell concentrations that are not really possible in real life.

Look and sound like total bollocks. An expensive way of getting "calcium and magnesium plus Vitamin D"

Neither; specifically it's thought to be TDeltaS product which is patented here. Stimulates the fasted ketonic state without fasting and the rowers they dosed with it seem to have wrecked their PBs on a Concept 2.

Can someone explain what that shit is in normal (ok sub-normal) English words?
Are there any proper studies of it or is it another one of those magic pills?

Ketogenic /low carb diets are used clinically for managing some forms of epilepsy and promote use of fat as an energy source. This product appears to simulate the low carb state without actually requiring you to fast so you have carb and fat energy sources being accessed at the same time rather than alternately. I think.

Also what might/might not be an AIS/Greenedge TT test protocol that demonstrated use of beetroot juice made feck all difference but caffeine, as expected, does
Also interesting is use of slowly dissolving gel shots in the cheek to provide the constant carb stimulus that in other studies of carb mouth rinses has been shown to show a performance benefit.

I've been taking beta alanine, approx 3g 20 mins before my 30km commute home which is generally done in zone 4 as much as possible. It seems to be working and i've taken 2nd in my first 2 races of the season. 3 points off Cat 2 now. #broscience
Actually, that's a lie, i've taken 2nd in races 2 and 3 of the season. I try to forget Pimbo

Looks interesting
Our household seems to have a lot of supplement woo woo these days, Lions Mane mushroom powder, collagen supplements etc, there has also been mutterings about AG1. I tend to hope a healthy diet should be enough.
But I have been suckered into the cold shower voodoo...
