My oyster card holder is on its last legs, is the leather on the basic card holder thin enough to work with it?

the card can be read no problem through the leather

mine is sewn in to quite thick leather, and goes through two layers, then cach etc..

It smells nice, it looks nice, it does what it was meant to do.

Could be wider - some long pencils just fit in by a skin of tooth, but once sharpened they will fit right in. Anyway, I'll be using it for much shorter graphite sticks, so no problem.
