If it had been a bit shorter I would've been all over it, real bargain for someone....
in the meantime, I could be interested in the headset in a split, assuming it's in as nice condition as the rest of your stuff?
It is long, but maybe looks a little exaggerated with the lowered TT. It's pretty nice geo for the size and the more relaxed front end makes it comfortable for all day riding, or longer rides. Also, has no Toe overlap.
It was good for me with the risers and shorter stem (as in pic) but really I (my back) just needs the extra height in the headtube and also, I prefer riding with drops. The Headset is in excellent nick, i'll let you know if it comes to a split.

Not yet, but you'll be first to know if I do ;)

If all goes to plan, i'll be buying a more suitable sized frame to replace the Taylor for my Fixed gear riding.Cheers, I'll get to saving for those then..:) Good luck man, but with these mighty fine items not much of that is needed..

there isn't anything bad about the Major Taylor (I heard those forks belonged to an ex-pro hipster?) and the stem. I want that stem.
-
• #30
Yeah, the frame it would've replaced is 61x57 I think 4cm is too much... real shame as frames like that don't exactly come up every day! Keep me posted re headset then, cheers.

Hah, Truedat!
Stem belongs with the frame (ideally) took a while to reunite them! But might not be to taste, so who knows... certain helps rein in the reach without being twitchy or looking out of place.
Keep me posted re headset then, cheers.
Will do

They won't be long enough T. soz mayne.
-
• #38
Steerer is 224mm, but leaving it open for potential frame buyer to have first refusal on them and the headset, stem, etc....

is the wound up a drilled track version? the rake seems very short
-
• #41
Unsure of exact model, but yes, could well be. The rake is short, maybe 30-34mm, its certainly less than the 43mm of the Easton ec90 I had on there before. Wanted to close down the relaxed front angle as much as poss and these fit the bill perfectly. And yes, they will take a brake.

The track model usually have a rake of 35 deg.

Im interested in the nitto set up...

There aren't any Wound Ups without a brake hole/fitting already drilled/installed and they won't make me one as a "custom" either.
Gits.
-
• #46
You're right, never thought about it, I have the CX fork which is drilled, as well as having Canti bosses.
I'm surprised they won't make a custom fork, thats a bit shit. Not a massive ask from the standard fabrication of the main stock is it? not to drill that one. Obviously, would expect to take a bit of time, but still...not ideal, but could always fill it and paint to look like the black ones.

I don't see why it would take any longer. Not subjecting something to a manufacturing process must surely take less time than actually carrying out the procedure?!
Damn yanks and their "I don't want to be sued culture"...
Apologies for the brief hijack!

^ fook me, they're nice J
^^I was assuming it would take longer, as it would take someone at WU to deal with your request. Rather than walking across the room, or picking up a phone to ask, they would probably generate a "job number" for their 3rd party "fork-crown drilling contractors" to ignore until you next call to ask wtf is going on. Then they would have to send a solicitor to oversee the signing of a contract which removes WU from all responsibility if you hurt yourself while brakless....fuck it, i wouldnt do it either, i'd just hire a pretty face to say "Noooooo"
can we have a "deal with it" monacle to cover the hole

Good point.
I already have a flat-topped bolt (similar to those things ikea give out to hold kitchen units in position next to each other) so now all I need are the forks themselves...
If it had been a bit shorter I would've been all over it, real bargain for someone....
