  • ts, if i see you riding that colnago i'll need a slap to prove i wasn't dreaming.

    jajajajajajajajajajajaja!

  • I know the cost isn't the point, but I'm surprised it's so 'affordable', not that it's not a lot of money. Reckoned on it being well north of that. This is going to be a truly beautiful machine.

This - I'm impressed if you've spent a grand or less.

  • I always liked the look of a Regal.
Classic and 'racey', not as bulky as a Turbo or Rolls.

  • I think I am definitely over a grand, thinking about it. But it's been worth it. Anyway a final important part arrived today.

    Rear Derailleur

Near Mint Campagnolo Record Titanium 9 Speed Rear Derailleur

  • Will be back on this thread in 1h to see the built pics then.

  • :) I'm still waiting for some minor bits like bar tape and stuff. Going to do an exploded shot hopefully like superprecise's mercian. Sorry to disappoint :P

  • Miscellaneous

    New Campagnolo Seatpost Bolt

  • careful with that bolt, as i remember they're made of cheese.

  • How so?

  • they round off very easily and smell faintly of chedder

  • Ok I'll be careful. Thanks.

  • careful with that bolt, as i remember they're made of cheese.

plus one, did that whilst riding my Dads roberts ironically.

  • have I missed the pedals? what are you going for and will you be using them with some early 90s shoes?

  • Yeah do you reckon campagnolo record titanium pedals? Still haven't found those yet. I normally use LOOK but for this build I reckon campagnolo record titanium pedals are a must.

  • just reading about them i saw this

If you can get your hands on a pair of Campy's original Super Record titanium-spindled pedals, be careful! Those pedals were produced with axles of pure titanium, which is not nearly as strong as the 6/4 alloy now used to produce Ti fasteners and bike parts.

  • think those dodgy ti pedals were quite early, a while before the period of this build. lovely build by the way!!

  • plus one, did that whilst riding my Dads roberts ironically.

Have I missed something or do you have the same misunderstanding of irony as Alanis Morrisette? Sounds unfortunate to me, that's all. And perhaps slightly topical as it was also on a Roberts.

    Prepares to be slammed...

  • Pretty sure he meant he was riding it in an ironic fashion.

  • Yup those are the ones I was thinking of, but are really pricey.

  • Use Look I reckon. But period correct Look.

  • Yup those are the ones I was thinking of, but are really pricey.

I've almost certainly got a spare pair, but they are used. Let me know if you want them.

  • Hey andy, pretty much depends on condition. Thanks for letting me know, will pm you later.

  • I always liked the look of a Regal.
Classic and 'racey', not as bulky as a Turbo or Rolls.

    ALL of THIS

  • Those Pro-fit pedals bring back memories - I had a pair of Chorus pro-fit in '98 rode across the pyrenees on them and then about a week after returning they were smashed into many small pieces by a Mazda MX-5, chainset bent into chainstay and Sidi soles cracked! the remnants were buried with the bent frame in a shallow grave under Sham Castle in Bath!
