Alright I've just got in after a quiet night at the g/f's (who knew peanut butter chicken curry is all kind of awesome?), was about to put this topic in ignored, but seeing some of the respond made me feel like I should reply.
R.E. the Thorn (CTC is a good place to sell it, who want tourer in the LFGSS??), I always have a habit of having a last minutes change despite having a perfectly capable bicycle, a good example would be selling the well-fitted 80's Colnago roadie for a Moulton 2 weeks prior to departing from London to Cumbria with Dan, eventually I decided to take my unfinished Brooklyn to the Dunwich Dynamo despite not setting it up properly instead of a roadie, I even took my town bike with moustache bar and a fully loaded rear rack on the London/Brighton ride, a bike intended merely for city riding, on my short tour in America I promptly went for a second hand roadie that doesn't quite fit me and went off for a 130 miles ride a couple days later.
So yes, I have a history of not following conventional sense by ditching a perfectly appropriate bicycle for something completely different, and possibly unsuitable.
Why? simply because I like to have an unconventional approach to life, even with bicycle.
As for South America, someone as we speak is riding a Pugsley on a similar route as I'll be taking, Scott not helping matter by convincing me to go for it!;

Regarding the whole "bullying" malarkey, either I don't see it as such, or I have that thick a skin, sure some are nasty, but there are better thing to worry about (like cycle campaigning, training etc.), I only considered bullying when they're taking the mickey out of my disabilities and poor use of the English grammar/spelling, surprisingly there are very few of the latter in this very topic, which is a nice change from the past (as to be fair not many people realised I do have difficulties), I do have to says I appreciated some of you for sticking up for me, it's nice to see other have value beside recommending wheels and gear ratios in the forum.
To put it simply, I had worse, much worse growing up in a public school.
My share in Kool-stop, Grand Bois, Velo Orange, and M:Part have been increasing tenfold since I brought them a couple years ago.
Unfortunately, Vittoria remain an all-time low.
(now I can put it in ignore).
