  • Thats great mate, keep em coming people.

  • Well no one in that room apart from Robb and Ludo had ever heard or seen bike polo before and they were blown away.

I got lots of questions after and some really keen folks. Told them about peckham and newt cause its close to the gallery.

They were also interested in the idea of coming to an exhibition about BP. Think we might have some newbs out of it.

We showed WGIOT and then they showed the Hells Belles clip because they were so interested. A nice + evening.

I know it was short notice, but it would have been good to have a few of you there.

I shall be raising this issue at the next LHBPA meeting within the 'bike polo ruined my life, alienation in the community' section :)

    #lookreturnkey^

  • bollocks, completely forgot
    sorry B

  • seriously that makes it easier to read!

    #thanksbrendan

  • So i have to knock up a proposal for the 'exhibition' and how i am going to use the space. I was wondering if it would be most sensible to have this coincide with a tournament? The london open or a UK champs event, what do people think? I'm sure there is lots on the itinery for the next lhbpa meeting so maybe its best to jut put your opinions here. I am itching to do this, but in reality it might be better all round to wait a while, have it help the LO, maybe do a launch, possibly easier to get some sponsors involved.. ? I am going to go and see them either friday or early next week so it would be good to have some opinions to work off.

  • I think the polo exhibition's a great idea, nice one on finding a space B... I guess just run with it?

Do you need money or anything? I'm a bit clueless. Hosting it in conjunction with the LO is a neat idea but it's perhaps quite far away from the courts and will mean requiring volunteers for both things at the same time?

I have very little polo paraphernalia nowadays, just loads of receipts, waivers and paperwork! Doing something with the (shit tonne) of waivers might be nice...

  • no i dont think i need money, certainly not from the LO. In fact i think the DIY ethos of the sport should be translated into the exhibition as much as possible. I dont need volunteers either. I think that / i hope that a couple people will get involved, but really its about people bring their stuff that i have discussed with them and we have a plan for where it goes. There are some electronic thing to do but any money that i need for that will hopef come from teh gallery. I know its far away from the courts, just though it could be an interesting launch pad for the weekend and maybe would be something that could attract sponsors to the event. Love the waivers ideas, mixed with photos of injuries maybe. #topofmyhead

  • Cool, well there doesn't seem to be a downside so go for it! (Yell if you need anything from me, etc.)

  • i have a pile of old polo crap, Still have a couple of the original hockey style balls and my old dolan frame complete with dents from said balls. a load of old mallets / t-shirts, etc. i'll have a dig though…

  • thanks guys.
