I have an auto kudos follower. Must be an interesting script project. I might see if it's something I can make a pi zero do one day.
Quick Google shows a few options including a chrome add-on

Change activity settings (gear used, description, visibility,...) based on set rules. Could be very handy. https://www.activityfix.com/

Yeah, he tweeted that it already went down because of the vid so you might want to encourage Strava increase their rate limits..
-
• #5210
So wouldn't that mean Strava paying more presumably to increase their rate limits to provide someone else's service?
That seems unlikely. In fact some might say they could restrict them deliberately until this service disappears and then announce a whole new raft of features next year (for paying customers only) -
• #5211
Subsequent tweet said Strava upped their limit.

Blimey

They sit back, watch engagement and then slowly (ok, it's Strava, VERY SLOWLY) add any features they like and then choke it off again, after rewriting their service terms.

years ago I thought that Garmin should employ that Veloviewer chap to improve/enhance their Connect interface. It's still shit
-
• #5215
I've never used Veloviewer but I agree with Garmin web ui being crap (matches their GPS software so at least they're consistently crap)

Does anyone know why a running activity does not generate an average speed in mph ( or kph) but this wierd minutes per mile figure? Can it be fixed without a subscription?
Since before I had any kind of device, I just got an idea of my progress through average speed. I'm recording my runs as rides to get the figure bit it's a bit annoying

As far as I know you can't change it in Strava. You could install a Chrome extension like this one: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/strava-speed-kmh-mph/dmanlabgfmgkjepekbadpbgcenfbohda?hl=en

Is the iPhone app silently failing to upload photos to an activity a known thing, or just me? Been doing it intermittently for me for years.
Or does no one else upload photos?

Spot the point at which either I fell off a cliff or Strava crapped out and deleted most of my ride

I like this visualisation of the personal heat map from Reddit. The op provides a tutorial in the comments if anyone wants to try it

That sent me down a rabbit hole, which led me to KeplerGL which seems a pretty cool open source tool to do similar. Developed by Uber and takes CSV files in a web interface (or python) which is cool!

Utfs but couldn’t find anything, so: how does relative effort work?
Today I rode 100k with a friend who I would consider almost identical in terms of fitness. We both used a HRM, rode the same type of bike and neither of us used a power meter.
We are neck and neck for distance this year, and we both cycled the same amount of distance last year. We are also the same age. (The point I’m trying to make is we are very similar.)His relative effort score for today’s ride was 216, while mine was 80.
I though relative effort is supposed to be comparable so what’s going on here?

It's based on time in heart rate zones (or manually entered 'perceived exertion'). Either your relative heart rates during the ride, or your Strava profiles' relative definitions of heart rate zones may differ.
Is it just me or has Strava shat the bed? Tried on multiple devices, but it no worky.
