I have a premiumn training peaks Subscription.
So, much as strava Premium was really Nice. I cant justify both. In fact. I may have to quit the TP when that comes up for renewal.

I'm glad my legacy lives on. Also...my login problem is finally fixed!

I've got him and some Max Rv bloke.

Cristian has started to kudos my rides as well...

Anyone know if you can pair a garmin hrm with strava directly? Mine works on my garmin but just says searching on Strava
-
• #4133
I also appear to have brought myself to Cristian's attention. I've already got two random Strava stalkers, Paolo Sala from Italy and Sergio Corder from Belgium. They just love my Brompton commute rides. Unlike everyone else. Very odd.

Are you trying to link it to a phone? If you are, you'll need an ANT+ adaptor on your phone as the Garmin HRMs don't do Bluetooth. Mine don't, anyway. I know Strava can work with Bluetooth HRMs on a phone, I assume it'll also talk ANT+ with a dongle.

Yep with a phone. Thanks

My phone (oneplus3) has ant+ built in, i think it's relatively common. Yours might not, or you might just need to download the ant+ software from play store.

Well bugger me, so does mine. Wish I'd known that when my Garmin went grumpy on holiday.

Do you have your bikes registered as different gear? Be interesting if they're scanning people's rides and liking the activities on certain bikes. Very programmatic thing to do...
-
• #4139
I do, but they don't appear to be discriminating between bikes in any discernible pattern. It's just random blocks of Strava love.

Better late than never, but maybe try this?
http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/snap/
I've used it to fix some dodgy gps trails with success.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but it's an interesting blog in which someone is drip feeding their PhD thesis into a blog format, which is based on the sociology of racing cyclists in training

Anyone have any idea what's happened to the Daily/Weekly/Monthly mileage trackers on the righthand side of the dashboard?
Seems to have reverted from an extremely useful tool that lets you know how many miles you should do each day or week, to the single intimidating figure showing how I'm 219miles behind my target at the moment!
-
• #4144
That was probably from the StravaX plugin on Chrome. They took it out in the last update because it wasn't calculating accurately.
-
• #4145
Aaah yeah. That does make sense actually. Real shame though - I think it was only the monthly calc that was wildly off, but the weekly and daily seemed pretty accurate. Hope it comes back before the festive 500

Hello,
When I'm using strava for my commutes I would like for the miles to appear on my public page along with any trophies I receive but not the actual route for privacy reasons is this possible?
Thanks!
-
• #4147
Don't think so, other than setting it to 'indoor' activity to get rid of the map. You can set privacy zones so your start and finish destinations aren't shown, if that's the problem?
-
• #4148
Yes that's it!
thank you
-
• #4149
I've set it up, but when I view my routes it shows me leaving the house..
Is that just because I'm using it or does that still show for other people? How can you check?
-
• #4150
My understanding is that you can see your full route, but anyone else viewing can't see the route you took inside your defined privacy zone.
Balls - I should have tried the same last year. As it turned out the Premium training plans really helped with my marathon training.
