    Weirdo

  • So many run challenges this month..

  • Has anyone used the Strava training plans before? I'm interested, but I fucking WISH they would let you have a gander before starting one... what do you need to have? how time consuming are they? do you need to be near the segment / climb you're training on? so many QUESTIONS!

  • Anyone know why with power strava says average undefined?

  • Too much power?! You broke strava.

  • I wish. Need a lot more power.

  • God dam you Strava....Garmin shows 121km rode, Strava 119.9 no Grand Fondo for me.

  • Am I being oversensitive here, or is the use of word 'Rape' in the title of a Strava segment pretty gross? Strava support don't see it as a problem.

  • What was their response?

  • Am I being oversensitive here

    nope

Strava support don't see it as a problem

    of course they don't http://notapattern.net/2014/10/14/ways-men-in-tech-are-unintentionally-sexist/

  • Right, thanks. Glad it's not just me. They just said it wasn't against their ToS.

Here's the link, in case anyone else fancies reporting it.

This, I assume, is the personal opinion of the support rep who looked at your request. This is in their actual ToS:

    You agree to not use the Site to: (a) upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

Is the casual use of "rape" vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable? It kind of comes down to the opinion of the viewer of the material. Teh rep says "no", I say "yeah", but then I also have lots of segments uploaded with sweary titles that some people (nobody on here I imagine) might also find objectionable. There's no list of specific terms and phrases to use as a guide, and there probably never could be.

I suspect this will ultimately come down to what Strava sense that their users will tolerate, much like the progression of this here cycling board from being a sexist shithouse to a reasonably pleasant place in the last 6 years or so. But Strava has lots of users from bikeradar, singletrackworld, and that time trialing forum, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

  • Is the casual use of "rape" vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable?

Yeah, I'd say so. I see what you're saying. I'm just pleased that this forum, as many other issues as it may have, doesn't take none of that sexism nonsense. I might post this on BR as well, just to see what happens. They'll all throw their 'fat lads at the back' jerseys at me in disgust.

  • How do you go about reporting it?

  • I'm just pleased that this forum, as many other issues as it may have, doesn't take none of that sexism nonsense.

I'd says we still got a long way to go.

  • Better, cheer!

  • People do regularly get called out for it though, which is more than happens on other cycling forums.

  • If you want to be pedantic.. there's another definition from Oxford dictionary ...

And how does that not also describe an act of violence on people?

  • Also reported it.

A whirlwind isn't a place though, so that can't apply.

  • Shitty spelling of "Reap the whirlwind?"
