So much of the data inside Strava is utter dross.

According to that the Millbank side of Lambeth Bridge is 20m ASL. Oooookay.

Col de Madeleine. Alpine gravel old school TDF. Now confirmed, can be ridden on a road bike.

So I now have a find a race link.
It currently just shows running races in the US. It could be great if they teamed up with BC to implement it in the UK.

Yep, Snoopy kissed marcy repped a couple of my short fixed rides pootling around the suburbs. Bit bizarre.
Also repped most of my commutes last week

And mine.

Drafting is flagable. Strava's own official rules. As previously mentioned, hard to know for sure but sometimes people openly admit it in their ride title/description/comments.

Drafting is flagable. Strava's own official rules.
Well that escalated quickly – that renders all road racing, group rides and most commutes null and void.
"flagable" ... GTFlagO >>>>>

Not riding in a group, but blatantly drafting cars, buses, lorries and the like.
-
• #3386
Scooters? Half the Pros on Stava would have rides flagged. If the KOM bothers you that much you should enter some races and get that out of your system.

Don't shoot the messenger cowboy.

!!! Flagged !!!
;-)

No fan of Strava, so when did they introduce the 'flagged segment waiver'?
Just got some KOM's back ;)

Why is my Strava feed now just fucking whoppers joining challenges or milestoning through 25% of challenges etc..?
Can this be ignored or removed from the feed. I only want to see rides.

Download the chrome strava plugin

Just a quick question...how accurate is Strava?.
-
• #3394
Pretty lame but I'm going to try and use the MTS for September to push myself to 1250km for the month which will be a real challenge for me. Never ridden more than 200 miles in one week and normally followed it up with about 12 the next.

how accurate is Strava?
Eh, at what?
It's as accurate as GPS is, so plenty good enough for cycling assuming the ride/segments are of a minimum length (let's say 500m). It's less accurate in urban areas but that's just GPS sucking, not Strava. The calorie count is actually pretty scarily on hills in my experience, less so on flats especially if you are drafting (hello Regents Park chaingangs).
Is it accurate at telling you how good you are? Depends. You have to ignore famous segments (Box Hill, anything Richmond/Regents) as they have the obvious cheats as well as authentic attempts by pros, chaingangs, "white van" motorpacers, TT bikes, etc etc. The solution, like a lot of things in life, is to compare yourself with your past self rather than others..

Just wondered as the max speed seemed a bit OTT for a slow person like me.

• #3397
What's a good entry level computer to use with strava? With accurate elevation readings? Smartphone battery doesn't cut the mustard.
-
• #3398
A garmin edge 200.
The altermeter in the edge 500 is affected by weather and actually the most accurate climbing data is that which Strava will overlay on your ride by default. The 200 has no altermeter - so you see Strava's data.

Spend your money on a better phone.. Assuming your normal rides are sub seven hours. My phone manages to serve me GPS & music for that length of time, no bother.

happens a lot, silly spikes in max speed. click on the 'analysis' link on left side and mouse over the graph, you can check out where it was supposed to happen and see it's a fault in most cases
That's for Strava support to determine, ce n'est pas?
