  • 157km off finishing the 'Prove It' challenge for me - think I'll settle for the 450km badge and call it a month!

  • I has all the badges! No chance of 1250km in feb though!

  • I has all the badges!

    ^meme potential

  • I did this little bit of fun today in honour of what would have been Henri Desgrange's 149th birthday..

Fuller description in the comments section..

  • im so going to try that! :)

  • Created a route and now it features in the news feed. Tried to find an option where I can hide it and keep it private, but didn't find anything. Going to use something else now to plan my routes.

But you've got a Garmin 800(?) though haven't you? Even the 500 has a create route function for realz. Y u no?

Haven't tested it properly but you just select a previous activity (on the device and set as route or set as course or something..

    I'm still going for it, what's 2 - 3 days really

  • ^^ I use my 500 for nav all the time. Load in a course, off you go.

Brilliant. My ex was also my most regular riding partner, so this should be a nice opportunity to shit on her massive ego like she shat on my heart. I might do an imperial century. Thanks, Strava! :)

    (I'm a big jerk)

  • My GF has suggested we do this month's Fondo on her birthday. She has become a bit of a mile-fiend and was on-track to hit this month's 1250km target, last time I checked.

I'd rather do 25 miles of reps up Rivington than do 1250km in a month!

  • Oh for fuck's sake....

  • Ha!

  • ^ what he said.

  • Not good man, not good. Went through a fuckload of pain, panic, flood water and cramping to get home on that ride too. I honestly wouldn't have managed that extra 3% even if I'd known

Going to have to plan a ridiculous ride for the weekend after next and smash that.

  • it's only 4 times up cs7 and back. htfu.

  • show us what you're really made of and find a big roundabout with no lights and do the entire thing just lapping that. rotherhite tunnel southside roundabout would do and it's close to your work.

it even has a bike sculpture on it, it's like it's fate.

  • it's only 126km, how much can it hurt?

  • Ha.

Only planned for 55km, got completely trapped by the Thames flooding half of Surrey and Berkshire so had to ride a few 50-100m sections of road with my cranks submerged in filthy, freezing water.
Trying doing a further 30 miles with 2 frozen, cramped up legs, then add in to the mix a metal femur and a bit of cancer.

    Surprisingly painful ;)

  • Htfu etc..

  • Oof, sorry to see you missed your target Rowhan, sounds like you had a tough day

I completed my Gran Fondo 2 last Sunday, again on my single speed, bike, I even managed to have a bit more elevation than my Gran Fondo 1. The weather was not nice, raining when I left with winds gusting to 60mph as I went along the coast which made for an interesting riding style at 45 degrees angles. At least my plan for an easy ride home worked out well with the wind at my back and the last 20 miles were very easy with the south westerly gales blowing me back to base.

  • ha, some loser flagged an entire ride of mine from 2012 because i beasted it along clapham park common and had a few seconds of high speed (basically where I was accelerating like fuck for .1 mile then eased off).

some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and their goals in life.

  • I had a look at this app for the first time and used it to measure my commute home. The first thing that struck me is why are people on motorbikes using it and pretending to be cyclists to get to the top of leader boards?
32 mph up a hill for 2 minutes in London ? LOL

31 mph up the 12% of Swains Lane the ? I just don't buy it. Even if it is for under 15 seconds.

    Very sad

  • Crabon roadbike chasing a large vehicle can sustain unrealistic speeds. Might not be as dodgy as you think.

  • 31 up Swains is pretty unbelievable though.

  • Completely unbelievable.
BMMF from here is in the top 40 with 14mph and he is a rocket. 31 mph is a motorbike no doubt about it
