6pt got back on his bike and melted ALL the data.

Dammit - you broke it with your swimming. :)

^^been off the bike for tiiiiiiime, nothing to do with me. I keep getting those little 'your empire is crumbling emails', don't even care any more :/

Is there a way of manually logging some miles then making it private? I don't seem to be able to find a way to do this...
-
• #1506
^ Why would you manipulate the mileage on your Strava and then keep it to yourself?
-
• #1507
You can mark the uploads as private in the review screen can't you?
I think they won't even appear in the feed if you do that. -
• #1508
Ah, just found it, sorry. That's the idea, not polluting stream with commutes etc.
^^ I like logging everything I ride, but not sharing everything. Home > work > pub > home not that interesting really...

If it's private, does it count to your total miles?
I too now log any and all miles on the bike, for record of everything i've ridden. But know how fucking annoying commutes are.
-
• #1510
Yes, same reason for me. I also like that Strava counts total miles for component and gives me a rough idea on when to look into stuff.
skinny: it should still count in the total amount of ridden miles, it's just not visible on your feed.

And private rides don't count for public segments.
-
• #1512
I care not for segments.
I believe private stuff counts towards totals. I hope so anyway, haven't checked.
-
• #1513
That't cool, i'll count my miles, make them private and see. No bother if fat tony on his boris rode blackfriars south faster than me.

It counts towards the total you can see, but not the total everybody can see. Which makes sense.
When I did the 1500 miles in May, a chunk of them were commutes/private miles so even though I hit 1600 I think only about 1300 were public and thus I did not get the badge, even though strava was telling me my total was greater than 1500. -
• #1515
That's a bit silly.
I've privated them for now, guess you can just un-private them. -

Gave dammit some accidental kudos earlier. Trigger finger just to quick on the mouse.

• #1517
I did wonder what aspect of my perfomance on "Camberwell Sprint Northbound" had impressed you.

• #1518
Commutes seem to be public as they show up in feeds. Not quite sure what the point is.

According to them it's just a label (I remember reading this from one of their support guys on their very supportive supporting forum).

If there is a problem with the elevation data on your activity, you can override the elevation with corrected data.

I've been having to 'correct elevation' on all my rides for the last couple of months. It's been overreading by ~15% and I was getting accusations of Strava doping.
I think an insect climbed inside the Edge 500's altimeter hole and died?

Someone just took my one and only KoM.
I'm free i'm free! -

New design if you haven't noticed.
-
• #1524
It groups rides along with your mates. Works very nicely IMO.

Logged in to have a look at the new design. I've ridden 65 miles this month. Logged out and wandered off for a cry.
(I don't like it so much. It seems to think I do all my riding with Ludwig)
