That's actually a fucking good idea, and probably cheaper than getting a speciallist Ti welder onto the job.
Well done that man!

Not sure how you would get the tube in though...
Guessing you would have to de-bond the seattube and seat stays? Maybe not so cheap...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I think Enigma ruled out the possibility of a new tube due to the problem of dealing with the carbon bits to fit it in - and thought a normal drill/weld solution wouldn't be strong enough to rely on given the size of the crack. They don't deal with carbon though - so I guess someone else who does (??) might be more comfortable with that type of suggestion.
To be honest though, I would have thought spending £££ to revive some 10 year old carbon might not be most prudent (or safe!) option.

I think if the Ti tubes are vaguely close to a standard diameter then finding a length of carbon tube could be easier, if it's custom dia then it'd be a case of getting one made £££ or a slightly slightly larger tube being sanded down. Old Alan/TvT frames have been fixed by tube replacements like that but they might be flexier (plus conventional skinny tubes i guess)
Either way, I don't think you'd necessarily have to de-bond the entire frame but no, probably not cheap.

Burls does custom carbon/steel frames, innit? Maybe ask him.

Bonding carbon in to metal is a fucking faff. If that frame meant the world to you, then maybe. Might be that the butting in the tube makes it impractical, too.

Bamboo sleeve. Not may carbon/ti/wood frames around.

Omega bikes used to do a Ti frame with a carbon rear, so Mark Reilly now at Nerve bikes could be another option.

Just stick a saddle and q/r clamp into the top of the fork steerer and sell it as a posh unicyle.
I'm sure some cunt in Hoxton studying circus arts whilst waiting to inherit will have it.

Just wondering what brake blocks I need to keep the braking surface looking so fresh?
By cleaning it every once in a while.

Oh, they got flogged so I can pay rent as my thesis is due in on mondaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy....
so no more Kris Kringles for the Gruber.
But still, a delectable Enigma clad with minty ultegra sitting staring at me from the turbo.

Mr Levacon from France repaired my gios titanium frame (crack on the Bb) last year for 150 euros. Very sympatic and a profesional person. if it can help.

+1 Mr levacon has been in the industry for decades, top lad and affordable. Really worth sending him a couple of pics and asking what he thinks of it. Not sure about his English skills tho.

Don't know how much I'm liking the Enigma now I've done some solid rides on it. Maybe I'm just going between it and a loaded steel tourer too frequently but it just feels kind of dead/solid and not really liking the Ultegra groupset so I think I'm just going to go back to Campag. Meh. I had fond memories of my Sabbath but it had a much sportier geo... wondering if its the longer wheelbase that's killing it a bit or just the fact I've been exclusively riding steel for a few years?

Nice! Who made the frame?

Just finished off my first Ti bike. Got rid of the carbon frame when I picked up a new 2014 GT Edge frame. Totally loving the feeling on its first ride out yesterday. Nimble, quick and surprisingly comfy over long distances, so far.
