it wouldn't be better than the BeeMC
-
• #453
The BeeMc has bearing play in the left pedal.
So I'm chucking it.

But think about the long term saving! Bike for life and all that.

Seriously though. The BeeMC is a stiff speed monster that laughs in the face of vertical compliance.
The VN would be built for comfort, with some A23 rims, and without the weight weenie bits.

you would end up weenie colour co-ordinating the shit out of it - you wouldn't be able to help it. It would be a thinking mans retirement handbag before you even started a CP thread.

ffs now I'm lusting for this frame :-(
I'm confortable on a 53cm top tube, would the 54 be too big for me or I could compensate with a shorter stem? oh god
-
• #458
Depends what stem length you use now?

I'm struggling to deny this.
Tis fecking lovely though. I'm over romatisizing. But the silky electric shifting with the smooth tuned Ti ride sounds like a nice combo.

Same here. I use a 100mm* stem, and a lot of bikes in my size spec 90mm OTP. So I guess 90mm would work well.
(I havent checked but the internet
says my 100mm EA90 stem is more like 108mm) -

Speaking of which. Anyone in the market for some un-used Ti spindles for Look keos (should fit 2 max, blade etc.)?
I paid 29 euros for them. So if someone covers that I'll cover postage.
or something.

Jambon poss...he's rocking keo easy
whats the weight saving?
-
• #463
36g whole grams of rotational weight for the pair (they weigh 70g as opposed to 106g for the Cromo).
Not much considering its not an easy swap TBH.
I'm switching to Keywins, when budget allows.

Hmmm... I might be tempted by the spindles but then they wouldn't be magnetic.
Is fitting easy, or "fairly" easy?

You cant say by just the effective toptube lenght. Youd have to look at angles aswell. 1 degree diff in seattube angle = approx 1cm toptube difference.
So could be smaller than you current bike even with a longer eff toptube measurement. Need to look at the whole picture to get a good fit.

There's a thread roadbikereview or something. I would'nt say it looked easy.

Here's mine in summer mode - the last few weeks I've been thinking of putting the guards back on though.Oh and the bars look at a funny angle.

Are they thinner the alu ones?
I'm after some spacers to go with a steel stem and the alu and carbon ones are a bit too chunky.
-
• #471
I'm not sure, I don't think they are particularly thin. Look like the same thickness as the alloy ones I had knocking about.
-
• #472
Ok cheers.
-
• #473
I may be interested but they look thick? Can you measure? Do they edges align with each other if stacked on top of eachother? (ive seen some pretty poor ti spacers before..)
-
• #474
Ill measure their thickness when I get home tonight. They stack up very well, tolerances are good.
-
• #475
They are 2.63mm thick
