well chappeau to all three of you. I'll be keeping a look out for the v2 of this ride.
- 1. Was on the Honda to Essex this morning, and it was horrendous.
Would be really interested if this was run again later in the year.

24 hours later and look at the weather!
Glad to see there's some interest in having another go at this and ^ would be lovely to have you along Bernie.
My weekends in London are rather few and far between over the summer but there's the odd gap in July / August. Will have a think and get a new thread up in the next little while.

Brave attempt by the determined 3, just hearing the weather was enough to stop me from leaving my bed, let alone leaving the house.
Not sure what the weather did further north but as the weather cleared you'd have had a very pleasant afternoon, if you survived that long (winking smiley face thing).

That was one of the problems I think, we were actually following the bad weather up. The forecast was for North London to clear at about 2pm (which it did) - but for Peterborough the rain was apparently set in until 8pm.

Looks like we weren't the only people struggling out there...!

Observers at Windmill HQ can confirm it "pissed down" for the entirety of the day.

^^ isn't it best practice to unclip and stick your legs out to the sides?

Ha! Good point. Cav clearly needs to pay more attention to my Wet Weather Training DVD. That situation could easily have been avoided. ;)

As previously outlined, totally up for a South pick-up point here:
http://www.brixtonwindmill.org/
I also visited a genuine functioning windmill in Holland last summer. One of the only mills in the world with three functions - flour, oil (mainly linseed) and sawing. We brought flour back in our panniers.
All I'm saying, Tim, is that this had better be good.

Never knew ther was a windmill in Brixton before now.
This has to be the start for a southern feeder at the very least.
