Al and Bernie can ride up and down the hills all day while the rest of us relax in the 700,000 pubs around the feet of said hills.

H, well said.
To be clear, this is a ride of friends, on famous roads, with no one dropped or punished.
One of the joys of having so many of the fairer gender with us, is that testosterone fuelled nonsense of "Men Only" events will be conspicuous by it's absence.
Kevin, you will be fine, so please do not be put off from enjoying what will be a splendid trip. See you and the rest of the crew on Friday? I hear the Bishop is making a surprise appearance...

great news Sam was Dan with you on the club 100 ride?.. remember that flanders is a fun relaxed ride..
so the strongest riders will be sweeping up and dealing with traffic dutiesalso make sure you bring your drinking legs ;-)

I didn't do very well with names that day, but am sure to have chatted if he was there!
Just to add, huge appreciation for the time and energy Al and Bernie have put into this. Feeling very privileged to be part of what is sure to be an amazing weekend.
I might even buy you each a beer.

I'll be fixed but with ss on the flip-flop if needed.
I will be doing a certain amount of strolling.

One step beyond....
(that's Braker at the front...)

I'll be fixed...still trying to figure what gearing though...at the moment my gearing is 66.7", spinny but will assist climbing the cliffs of flanders, will probably run 75.6" on the other side for the flatter sections. Although, it seems like it will be mostly flat...

I'll be SS. I'm at about 74gi - 44 x 16 - but thinking about sticking on an 18t cog on the flip side - basically the same as you matt. I gave dropout my lockring on the bournemouth ride though (who rides without a lockring? crazee) so I now I'd have to get a 18t cog AND a lock ring and I just don't think I'll be that organised in time.
From the absolute pleasure I had riding with the others at the TLC I'm sure the group will find a really lovely cruising pace regardless of our respective gearings.

Oh, and Al dropped off the stunning Belgium chocolate, later on Saturday. Mrs Bernie, and rest of the family did the onerous taste testing duties on my stock, and gave a massive thumbs up. I will assume that all bars are to be brought in the wagon, but please do let me know if you want your stash left in Blighty.
So, Bernie Ms Cris, Kevin, Your American and Al, all sorted and ready to go, Thursday squad of Katy B, Tanya G, Jana, H, Matt, Braker, all due at 7:30 on Thursday evening.
Call the mobile or PM if any issues arise, as will probably be no where near a computer come Thursday evening.
In terms of kit, "layers" is the word, with the ability to respond to whatever the weather throws at us.

layers.. good call Bernie
arm warmers, gilet and rain jacket is a good investment for spring / autumn cycling.. if you get too hot bernie and I will carry excess gear.. we'll have spares too.. but prefer you bring extra socks and shorts just in case you get soaked on saturday and prefer not to ride in damp gear..
as for weather forecast, it'll get more accurate come thursday, never trust the bbc weather more than two days ahead, especially in europe
;-)

When did you start believing the Broken Biscuit Company?
There *will *be a few specks of rain, but only so we can have a few of these during our amazing adventure.
I'm Bill, and Al is Ted.
Lighten up, it is going to be brilliant.

Up for one or possibly two (I think the Mur is part of the plan - always dreamt of pushing my bike up an iconic Belgian hill) - but I don't think a hillfest is on the cards, is it?
