This guy is so futuristic and serious about his riding. He gives Will.I.Am a run for his money as far as being sent back in time to teach us is concerned.

Every so often, I go a bit weird (actually that happens a lot) and decide what I really want in me life next is a alu bro pro... then we have a page like the last half of last page, where I am firmly reminded, in a "I'm not taking any crap from you laddy" tone, that that's a really fecking shite idea and it's gonna have to be a steel track build and I say "Yes Sir, sorry Sir", and the universe gives a sigh of relief and carries on with whatever the fuck it was upto before.
Night all... o_o

Nah mate, one alu track bike is enough for me, steel is next, although... if I was feeling silly, I could sell the Omnium and replace with the MASH...

FWIW, my earlier assumption regarding the 'PROtotype' wheel being a HED3 seems to be correct. I wonder if it's a simple question of PRO asking (and/or paying) HED for permission. You'd think HED would be pretty pissed that they don't get the exposure, but having said that, anyone who's really going to fork out for a wheel like that new is going to know what it is anyway. COOL STORY BRAH!

^ What can happen is that guys who race for instance, with Prototype, but want another manufacturers product, have it relabeled with their sponsors logo.

^ Happens quite frequently - In this years Paris roubaix, many of the riders had FMB tyres with Specialized stickers on and Astana had ambrosio rims built onto shimano 105 hubs, both of which were covered with corima stickers
In those cases it's less about preference and more to do with necessity (sponsor doesn't make anything that's up to standard)
I think Lance Armstrong rode a san marco saddle with bontrager stickers on though. -

Boring question, but do you think they have to negotiate permissions to do this kind of thing? You'd think it would be some kind of IP infringement. Maybe they just go ahead and do it regardless.

^ not sure really, A lot of the time, you pay the cash and do what you want with it, IIRC Indurain's Pinarello was built by Dario Pegoretti, who built loads of steel frames for the stars (Pantani too I think) - he charged top dorrah for his frames and his customers stuck whatever stickers they wanted on it - that's business. - Much the same with the FMB tyres - I got those pics from the FMB webpage (they seem pretty proud of the fact)
That said, the "corima" wheels seem a little below the belt! -
